I'm not happy about the spike in cases, but anyone truly surprised by it is a moron. The original goal was to "flatten the curve" and it basically worked the way it was supposed to work. The death toll is much lower than the originally projected two million or so, but the number is still higher than anyone wanted to see. As the curve flattened and people became restless from lack of work and income, things started to reopen. Suddenly what we fully expected to happen has to be blamed on someone by the media and the left.

We knew the virus would not simply go away.

We knew a permanent lock down until a vaccine is found was not something that would work.

We knew there were risks in reopening.

We knew there would be spikes and that we would have to keep an eye on hospitalizations in areas and possibly take actions based on those numbers.

Flattening the curve worked; now the left must move the goalpost.

They mutate. Viruses want to survive and multiply. They do not want to kill their host. They mutate to survive. Hopefully this virus is mutating into a less deadly form.

The number of new infections may be increasing due to increased testing. The number of deaths per day, continues to decline slowly. Even in those states where the infection rate is said to be spiking.

Of COURSE there's a spike in cases,
testing is exploding everywhere.
The important stat is hospitalization
and deaths, which isn't spiking. Nobody
in my county has died from it in over
a month. It's the flu, people need to
quit worrying about it.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Do I have to be happy about it?

Hospitalizations are up in some areas; that is cause for at least minor concern.

Testing rates in the United States are the same now as they were in May, and have declined from their peak in early June

But they're still going on at a high
rate and give us more data every
day that this is not what we were
told it was by the 'experts'. Who
are still running around like chickens
with their heads cut off.

That actually happens, I saw it on my
grandparents farm.

In case anyone needed guidance on sex during the pandemic, here you go:

"You are your safest sex partner. Masturbation will not spread COVID-19, especially if you wash
your hands (and any sex toys) with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before and after sex"

Very interesting.

But I guess it’s good news for members like JohnCena (guy who was nuked for trolling at the other site). He hasn’t had a sex partner other than his hand in his entire life...

4098 new cases in one day in ruby red TX. Previous daily high was 2504 new cases. Increases in testing can’t explain away this...

Meanwhile, Michigan’s numbers have been great lately. Thanks for listening to the scientists, Gov. Whitmer!
