I've never been in doubt about why it was invented, it was to give a counter-balance to celebrating Christmas in the White way. .

Really. So Xmas has always been
a White holiday, no Blacks allowed.
What racist country do you live in,
I've seen Blacks celebrating Xmas
all my life.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

It'd be interesting to know how celebrating Christmas might differ. Some, no doubt, do the soup to nuts version, while I have to think a percentage of Christian Af/Ams find that off-putting. The Kwanzaa idea was tapping into that, I think.

Good to see you defending Christianity there, Bob, I had thought Kwanzaa might have some appeal to you, it appears to be completely non-religious.

What does Xmas have to do
with Xtionity anymore. You
can be in an office for the
whole month of Dec and
never hear the two linked
be any co-worker. I came
from a non religious household
and Xtionity was never mentioned
at Xmas time.

Today is day three of Kwanzaa, which celebrates Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility):

Quote: Ujima
To build and maintain our community together and make our brothers' and sisters' problems our problems and to solve them together.

Or more McDonalds. Isn’t there a thing where countries both with MCD have never gone to war?

In 1996, economist Thomas Friedman came up with what is known as the Golden Arches Theory of Conflict Prevention, the notion that no two countries with McDonald’s franchises have ever gone to war with each other. People in McDonald’s countries, he said, “don’t like to fight wars. They like to wait in line for burgers,” and “countries with middle classes large enough to sustain a McDonald’s have reached a level of prosperity and global integration that makes warmongering risky and unpalatable to its people.”

The assumption is that Thomas Friedman ( born on July 20, 1953) was being philosophical, and his comment was not to be taken as literal.

There are 118 countries with McDonald's restaurants

At the time of the Falkland Islands war, did both countries have a McDonalds?

You've got to explain that image you chose. Perhaps if I recognized the actor I would "get it"

In the news, the big rise in murders in Chicago and Atlanta have been highlighted, almost coming right out and saying it's Black people killing each other in more earnest. They wouldn't dare put it like that, but it's obvious, in particular a 7 y.o. Af/Am girl in Atlanta who's picture was particularly affecting was shown.

This makes me think the principles of Ujima have been ignored a little bit, how could that be?

Falklands islands do not have any chains of any kind. No McDonald's, Starbucks or any other chain. the population is ~ 3400.

Shakespeare predicted the Falkland Islands War in 1600.

Quote: Hamlet Act 4, Scene 4
CAPTAIN
Truly to speak, and with no addition,
We go to gain a little patch of ground
That hath in it no profit but the name.

To pay five ducats, five, I would not farm it.
Nor will it yield to Norway or the Pole
A ranker rate, should it be sold in fee.

HAMLET
Why, then the Polack never will defend it.

CAPTAIN
Yes, it is already garrisoned.

HAMLET
Two thousand souls and twenty thousand ducats
Will not debate the question of this straw.
This is th' impostume of much wealth and peace,
That inward breaks and shows no cause without
Why the man dies.—I humbly thank you, sir.

CAPTAIN
God be wi' you, sir.

The war was between Argentina and the UK. Did Argentina have any McDonald's at the time?
