Well the industry probably doesn't really care what you think unless you are a key demographic or go to the movies every month. I don't like 3-D movies, but with thousand of 3-D screens in Asia, and the world count at over 50% of digital screens being 3-D, the industry cares about 3-D a lot.

I am quite sure they do not, they would be crazy if they did. I see a movie about once in 18 months. Most of what I like are some kind of "business movies" like "The Big Short" or "The Founder." I can't name one thing playing right now. If a star is more than about 5 years younger than me, I probably never heard of them. Modern movies don't do it for me.

Movies are the same attendance model as baseball. Get the person who goes once a year to go twice and you triple your gate.

30 years ago the creative departments in Hollywood were still creative.

These were among the top movies
in 89? They sucked then and still
suck.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Movies then and now are primarily aimed at families and teenagers. Middle Aged White Guys primarily watch TV.

Kelly McGillis, who is 5 years older than Tom Cruise, played the love interest in the highest grossing film of 1986. Next year, Tom Cruise's 41st feature film will be a sequel to Top Gun.

Kelly, who became a lesbian ten years ago,c has pointed out that she was not invited back for the sequel.

Well in theory, her not being invited to be in the sequel because it may be hard to film a movie with an Out Lesbian pretending to be in love with a man. She may feel out of her elements trying to convey attraction to someone she wouldn't in real life. But, gay men have convincingly portrayed straight male womanizers, Neil Patrick Harris is an Out Gay Male but he convincingly portayed being in love with MANY women. Victor Garber is an out Gay Male and is even has a Husband IIRC but he convincingly played a pervert trying to hit on his younger female Law School Student. I guess she should have been at least OFFERED a role in the sequel, even a Cameo where Tom and her characters reminice about their flame in 1986, but then she chuckles s that as a Lesbian, she is no longer interested in rekindling their flame and they both laugh good naturedly. Lots of Lesbians who used to date men will empathize with that. It's a win winsituation.she

I don't think lesbians are the target audience for the Top Gun sequel.

I'm not sure that Tom Cruise would appear with any of his old costars (even the ones who are not overweight lesbians). They just date him.

I watched part of Funny Face the other day, and Fred Astaire was 30 years older than Audrey Hepburn, but people found it romantic when he pulled her ladder over and kissed her at their first meeting.

Nope, probably the opposite, None
in either Jack Reacher, Collateral,
Edge of Tomorrow, Mummy, Minority
Report, Valkyrie, Rain Man, and lots
of others. Did he ever have one in
any of the Mission movies?

EB - Cruise most certainly had a love interest in Rain Man

Claire Phelps played by Emmanuelle Béart (born August 14, 1963) had a complex relationship with Tom Cruise's (born July 3, 1962) character in Mission Impossible I

Michelle Monaghan (Born 1976) has played Ethan Hunt's wife in some of the Mission Impossible movies, and

2018 Mission: Impossible - Fallout : Julia
2011 Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol : Julia Meade (uncredited/camdo)
2006 Mission: Impossible III : Julia
