Why would even a cheapskate spend 10
cents on a crappy service like Hulu.

I have young kids. Since Hulu is partly owned by Warner, there's a ton of content from Cartoon Network. $10/month is much much cheaper than a cable subscription.

But they have On Demand and lots of
good movies, better the Nflix even.
More current.

I've tried Sling Blue for two months ($50). They gave me a ROKU Express for free (retail $30)

I do.

Can you expand on that? Do you like it, is it a viable option for getting rid of cable?

What's your opinion on it? Worth it, good option to ditch cable?

Get a Firestick and find some of the downloads and get it all free. You have to put up with the occasional shut down of the app you are using, but another always pops up. I am listening to CNBC on one right now.

It is not perfect, but unless you just must watch everything the day it airs and cannot put up with occasional hiccups that make you reload it is great! "Better Call Saul" was usually available 24-36 hours after air date for example.

Yep, I like it. I've had SlingTV Blue for about a year, I think.

As for whether or not it is a viable option to getting rid of cable -
You still need internet service from somewhere. If it is your cable company, they will likely charge you more for the internet without a tv package from them.
You need to see if the channels available are of any use to you.

SlingTV has two packages - Orange and Blue - you can order them separately or together. In addition to that they have add-on packages for small groups of similarly themed channels.

SlingTV's parent is the dish network.
