I walked right into that one. Good bit. Was going to question Kilimanjaro having two peaks, but lots of mountains have two or more summits and it is hard to tell which is highest.

Sorry, wasn't trying to run game on you there. I thought you would be the type to be a huge MP fan in your younger days and would catch it right off.

Were you a fan back in the day?

No. I just never got into it. I've known a lot of people who seemed to have memorized numerous bits. I'm simply very hard to please with comedy.

Thanks for this thread, Mike. This is
a whole new world for me on Youtube.
I love it, I'm living vicariously thru
these adventures.

This is a hot chick on the same part
of the AT as Evan, the guy in the
other video. They are in the middle
of the AT as I write this and they
both post regular videos.

I've noticed that most of these hikers
are above average in intelligence.
I would hike with this girl any day.

The women you meet hiking on something challenging are the best women ever. Fit, outdoorsy, smart, funny, exotic, and very attractive. Especially in July and August when the best of European women hit the trails on vacation. When I was doing my longest stretch of the AT I kept meeting up with a woman who went by the trail name Vermonster. Nobody would have said she was super attractive is a physical only way, but I still can't get her out of my head.

This woman is gorgeous to me
and her legs drive me crazy.
You gotta think she gets lots
of attention from men on the
trail.

Are the words 'trail magic' used
outside the AP? Where they
leave coolers that hikers put
extra supplies in so others may
use them as needed. Or gallon
jugs of fresh water.

I had no idea there was this huge
underground community of hikers
out there. The way they keep the
trail litter free is amazing.

Surprising to me as you fit the mold of a fan.

Have a day permit for Whitney on 18 Aug. Unfortunately I need another one for my brother so will be relying on no-shows/cancellations when we get to Lone Pine the day before. Any suggestions for an alternate nearby hike we can do in the event we crap out? At this stage we are looking at Langley but open to suggestions.

I've done Langley too. That is on part with Whitney but much less crowded. The only downside is it doesn't get the glory Whitney does. The trailhead for Langley leads to a whole network of trails but I don't know much about the other ones.

Regarding Whitney, I've been up twice in the last ten years and never been asked for a permit. Of course, not saying what will happen if you do it without a permit.

I'm following 4-5 current hikers
doing the thru-hike on the AP.
All 2100 miles of it. So far,
this guy is the best. He posts
a quality video every single day.
Great editing, pic and sound, he
really goes the extra mile to put
in the great production values.
A lot of the hikers on Ytube are
lazy, they post once every 3 or
4 days. This guy finds stuff every
day that's interesting. And edits
it in his tent before bed.

Beware, he has a very foul mouth but
you get used to it fast.
