That's pretty amazing. Most people who do the whole thing in one season average about 18-20 miles a day. He did 50. However, he was supported so didn't have to carry much weight. I wonder if he is the first to do it in fewer days than his age. Anyway, my goal is to just do it in one season and I'll allow myself to skip the approximate 200 miles I already did northern VA to southern PA. I'm hoping to do this perhaps in the 2022 season or so. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

Eves so, he said it was grueling. Icing his feet every night, going thru low periods when he wanted to quit. I would have lasted half a day.. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

He did 50 miles a day -- of course it was grueling. Not just easy 50 miles either but that trail is always going up and down and some parts are rocky. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

Evenbob Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 146 Posts: 25011 | An interesting video, this guy has like 30 videos of his whole hike. Beautiful vistas, bear and deer. I would hate sleeping in a tent every night, I would never do it. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Wizard Administrator Member since: Oct 23, 2012 Threads: 239 Posts: 6095 | I've done 2/3 of the Shenandoah Park section and got up about 50 miles into Pennsylvania. If I ever follow through with my plan to skip over that part, I'll have to study the maps and try to jog my memory for exactly how far north and south I've reached. Saw lots of deer but no bears. I have seen bears a couple times in Lake Tahoe, including one time quite close. I have a picture if anyone is interested. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

Evenbob Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 146 Posts: 25011 | I'm hooked on this guys videos. They're very well edited and he's informative and funny. I just binged 22 thru 26 and want to see them all. There's a hot blond in a lot of them. All the girls on the trail seem hot because they're hikers with great figures. I walked right into that one. Good bit. Was going to question Kilimanjaro having two peaks, but lots of mountains have two or more summits and it is hard to tell which is highest. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |
