holding onto to an idea that is not supported by fact or evidence.

Are you describing your belief in god? If
so, you nailed it perfectly. There is no
facts or evidence for gods existence. If
there were, they would be in textbooks
right next to the facts about gravity and
how electricity works.

Why in the world would statements about religion be found in science textbooks? What we should do is learn about how amazingly fine tuned gravity is and the mysterious and amazing power of electricity and then turn to other books to learn that these things are just some of the reasons why it is only reasonable to believe in God.

I think we should respect this thread for what it is and not ruin it with another argument about the existence of god. I'm sorry to have gone along with it.

Why do Xtions want creationism taught in
schools right alongside Darwinism. If god
is a scientifically proven fact like you claim,
shouldn't it be in science books right beside
the science of flight and physics?

I'll have to pick some up next time I visit. It in the bakery or bread aisle?

Bread aisle. It's with the other private brands like Pepperidge Farms.

Bob, I'll answer this in one of the other religious threads. Suffice it to say here that I have never claimed God is a proven scientific fact, in fact I have said explicitly that it is not in science's purview to so this. It provides evidence that lead one to the logical conclusion there is a God.

Only if that's your intent when you
start. Nobody begins with a blank
slate and ends up logically at a god.
Quite the opposite, in fact.

I think you're going to have to give EB the last word here and take it to another thread without further comment here. Even that may not work.
