Never missed Sonny and Cher. Still good today. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

I just saw Cher last night. Very well done show and she sounds better than ever. Very hard to believe she is 72. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

You do realize that you were watching a propaganda movie from Warner Brothers, don't you? See the comments made in the Congressional Record by Senator Nye of Nevada who wanted to hold hearings on that movie and others from Warner Brothers all trying to whip America into a war fever. |

Never heard of him or his band. Here is a link, for the benefit of others: Devin Lima of LFO dies at 41. If SOOPOO had him, that would be 59 points, which should clinch a win, except maybe if someone young on someone else's list goes, like Chumlee on mine. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

The omission is duly noted. In other news, I'm sad to announce that Ricky Jay died on Saturday. He was a magician's magician. About as good at slight at hand tricks, which are the hardest to do, as anyone. However, as far as I knew, he never had a big act. I can't say that I knew him personally, but he seemed to do magic for the love of magic as opposed to the money or fame. I have a book he wrote about long gone magicians, mentalists, and the like. He was also an actor and not just playing magicians. My favorite roll of his (not that I've seen all of them) was in House of Games. Knowledge is Good -- Emil Faber |

Big fan. Know a lot about him, all he did was practice. At red lights, in line at the bank, watching TV. He was always sharpening his skills. He was only 72, but has looked like crap for a few years. Put on a lot of weight, nobody has said what killed him yet. He was a very secretive person, hard to know or get ahold of. He patterned himself after the old magicians he knew as a kid, men who were famous in the 20's and 30's. They were secretive, and had an air of mystery about them. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
