Best Actress is a big question mark. Amy Adams wasn't even nominated for Arrival. Odd. I have no idea who will win, at this point. The SAG awards this weekend should clarify who the frontrunner is. Best Supporting Actor will probably go to the guy from Moonlight. Best Supporting Actress will go to Viola Davis (she's overdue for an Oscar...). “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

Ruth Negga for Best Actress is the only one that seems questionable to me. All the other non-white actors who were nominated have earned their place in the awards conversation. “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

I think the best part of Arrival didn't get nominated. I can't compare to the other films mind. I liked Arrival until the final act, which was horribly executed. It is said that your life flashes before your eyes just before you die.... it's called Life |

I agree. But an Oscar for Best Trailer would be going too far with the golden statuettes.
It pretty much went downhill at superluminal speed when Dr. Banks reported what Abbott and Costello said in regards to the question "Why did you come here?" Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

The SAG awards certainly threw a wrench into the Best Actor race. Denzel won over Casey Affleck. Casey has some skeletons in his closet, and a lot of people in Hollywood don't think he deserves any award. Emma Stone has emerged as the frontrunner for Best Actress. I like Emma a lot. Her performance in La La Land is good. But best of the year? No. “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |
