So they seem to all agree: before last night Donald wasn't President. Well then who the hell was?! “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

To you and your ilk he wasn't. That changed last night. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Well, when he gnaws through his restraints, finds the unsecured phone, and begins to pick tweeter fights, will he no longer be presidential? Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

Oh but it did, it really did. You'll see. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

So when he pulls a live rabbit out of a hat, people gasp with amazement. "Trumpsplain (def.) explaining absolute nonsense said by TRUMP. |

That pesky "non-story" just won't go away. Poor illegitimate Don... “A straight man will not go for kids.” - AZDuffman |

| RonC Member since: Nov 7, 2012 Threads: 9 Posts: 2582 | In spite of Trump saying that Hillary should go to jail on the campaign trail, there was very little chance of that ever happening: "First, there are generally two statutes that come into play in prosecutions related to lying to Congress: 18 U.S.C. §1621 — perjury and 18 U.S.C. §1001 — false representations before Congress. Under section 1621, the government must prove that a witness took an oath, before a competent tribunal, and “willfully and contrary to such oath states or subscribes any material matter which he does not believe to be true.” The most difficult element to prove is that the witness “willfully” or knowingly made a false statement beyond a reasonable doubt. However, the government can also prove this element through circumstantial evidence. While a conviction under section 1001 is generally considered to be easier to obtain than a conviction under section 1621, it still requires a showing that the witness had intent to deceive or mislead Congress. The intent element can be satisfied by demonstrating the witness had a reckless disregard of the truth under section 1001." http://lawnewz.com/high-profile/why-hillary-clinton-will-not-be-charged-for-lying-to-congress-even-though-she-did/ ...and there is very little chance of any charges coming out of this issue. The real issue is not who talked to Russia, it is did they ask Russia to interfere in the election or do some other nefarious thing. Last I heard, talking to a Russian is not a crime. Not remembering it in front of Congress could be a crime, and is definitely is not a good thing, but it seems unlikely to be something leading to a resignation or actual charges. Perhaps it should lead to him recusing himself from any investigations of the Russian election interference. Do I think the Russians tried to influence our election? I don't know why they wouldn't. They have the capability to do things like that. So do we. Apparently, we have even done it. How then is it so shocking that Russia may have tried a little of it here if they favored Trump over Clinton? Does it upset me? Of course!! It just doesn't shock me. There is no "smoking gun" leading to the Democrats position that Trump, or his people, asked for the Russians help. THAT would be an issue. The investigations should continue to see if there was any contact like that, but the act of a Senator talking to a Russian Ambassador while serving on the Armed Services Committee and forgetting to say so in a confirmation hearing is hardly that smoking gun. |

I'm sure if all these Russian contacts were so innocent and proper, Golden Boy's cabinet wouldn't be lying through their teeth about them. I'm also sure perjury isn't a good qualification for an attorney general. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |
