I observed this before: he has to put people down, especially those who criticize him. And that is a terrible trait for a president. All presidents receive vast amounts of criticism, from the press, other politicians, foreign leaders and the people. Trump might just spend his term chasing down enemies, should he get elected.

It is amazing to me that Trumpsters cannot recognize this. Trump is the thinnest skinned politician alive. As President, he would be a disaster.

It's better than I thought, for whoever runs against Trump.

He's wasting tons of time and effort, such as it is, in counterattacks to anyone who criticizes him. And he keeps making himself look bad by, you know, doing bad things.

Did you see a veteran gave him his Purple Heart? Not only did he pocket it, but then he said "I always wanted to get the Purple Heart. This was much easier."

He probably doesn't even know what Purple heart is.

That's not even the worst part - the Purple heart wasn't even the real one, it was a replica- and the guy who gave it to him told him so. But then when he shows it off, Trump immediately claims it's the real one...

That makes little difference, as it is a huge gesture from the veteran either way.

What's petty is asking the soldier whether it's the real one or a replica. As I said, it makes no difference. Asking, though, is about as classy as biting the medal to make sure it's not made of tin.

And remember what happened on Tuesday July 5-- the day that the FBI Director gave his press conference on Hillary's emails? Trump should've been hammering Hillary on her email shenanigans.

But instead Trump picked Tuesday July 5 to praise Saddam Hussein. He changed the subject, just to make sure no one was talking about the FBI press conference.

Now? He'd back off his remarks on immigration, Muslims, abortion and women. He'd instead become reasonable and insist we need immigration reform, tolerance, free abortions and stronger sexual harassment laws. That would kill his support among the Republican base. Next he ought to say he favors only "market-based" solutions to all these problems, thereby eliminating any support from Democratic voters.

He's not a plant. He's a true believer, and the appropriate standard-bearer for bigotry and intolerance.

Some months ago I said that if bigotry were honest about itself, it couldn't exist. Trump is the next best thing.
