I wouldn't actually use "more efficient" as always desirable because it is offset against the human need not to be driven insane by efficiency requirements.

Have you ever read any of "The Wealth of Nations?" Smith points out that most inventions start out as a way to make less work for ones self. In my own day thing have gone from making a printout which you had to walk to the fax machine or retrieve from same then either send or get and input various info to just getting or sending the whole thing via a .pdf. Better quality. Delivery INSTANTLY not via courier, FedEx, or whomever.

This happens up and down the economy. Less work is pretty much always desirous unless you are a featherbedding union.

One of the best ways to drive a worker to madness is too keep giving too much to do and too little time to complete it. It's one of things they use at military academies to put their cadets under stress and see if they can keep going.

This has nothing to do with efficiency. This is workflow. When I was a PCO GPS was unheard of. GPS was a map. At least a stop a day was probably lost looking at maps. With GPS the same worker could produced an additional $35 per day in 1995. That is probably $50 today. $250 a week. $14,000 per year. That covers a lot of things, and some of it will trickle down to the worker.

He does not get all of it because the owner has first dibs and that's right and how it should be. But he will get some of it. And that is how incomes rise.

Depends, You're usually not operating in a vacuum. You're competing. If your competitor chooses to operate on tight margins your product or labor has to be better in some way and still desirable or you work harder.

If you have a market all to yourself that's different.

So what. Report after report
says 10K was there, you could
have taken that any time,
before more people arrived.
I trust you as far I trust any

Long term having a market to yourself is often a bad thing. You don't need to be efficient, you overpay your labour, you don't inovate and you start to take your customers for granted. Others take notice that you are making too much money and soon they come along and eat your lunch before you can make the changes that are required to hang on to your market share.

What report of 10K?
cite a source
My source is photographic evidence baby.
Pictures don't lie. No photoshop, the raw data baby.
I have photographic proof :-)
Is your stance still that it was sold out and thousands were stuck outside?
You are wrong EB, it was not sold out and thousands not stuck outside.

That's why I took the picture
I thought to myself, boy what a small crowd
I need to document this with photographic evidence :-)

EB's parents (I'd reckon) are about were I'd like to be. Old school traditional, where a man could be the sole breadwinner, mama could stay home and create a proper family, and a person could get by. Sure, they couldn't afford extravagances, but they could get by. Not only get by, but have the TRUE wealth of raising a proper family according to their beliefs.

Even something as vital as raising your family is not possible in today's world, and I think you'd agree that the loss of the family structure is possibly the greatest cause of the many ills we have today. I like to think I am capable both physically and mentally, but I can't pull this off. The only reason it LOOKS like I'm doing a good job is because I have my retired mama just the other side of the hill and therefore have no childcare concerns (neither financially or in a "proper raising" sense) and because I have the immeasurable boon of living in my childhood home rent free. As much as I busted my ass and despite that I now have a "good" job, I would be eternally sinking if you took just those two things away, things that very, VERY few people are lucky enough to have. That Is Not Right.

Some of this is so much the changes in society. First off, we are now at the point where half the kids in lower grades do not have both parents. In my day it was well over 90%. A divorce or two, one or two lost their dad in Vietnam or somewhere else, but to have been born to parents never married? Never. All that daycare and other care is expensive.

Then there is the house itself. It is now twice the size it was in the 1970s. That adds cost to buy and maintain. In the house is different, too. All that space gets filled with crap. Clothes, toys, expenses.

I won't keep beating this, though, it has been done. What I will say is from my own life. I do not know how I lived 10-15 years ago. Just over the last 5 I have made life changes that I am not kidding mean 3 months of extra income from side hustles and expense cutting. Might be more than that. I could do even more but am too much of a foodie. We each have to fix ourselves.

You better believe it! Welcome to a free market!

The cheapest does not always get the business, even in identical products. But competition makes goods and services better. Suppliers prefer the government pass "Anti Dog Eat Dog" acts so they have it easier, but everyone else suffers.

Income inequality is not a problem. Income insufficiency is.

If you make enough to meet your needs and have something left over for leisure, you won't care that your boss makes ten or ten thousand times or ten million times as much as you do.

But if you put in long hours and can barely get by, and need to take out high-interest loans (in the for of credit cards), and are dragging student loan debts for a degree that is not helping you much, if at all, then you will care how much more money the boss makes, and you will wonder why he needs that much money. You'll also wonder why a CEO will get millions for running the company into the ground. And you won't be happy.

How does she do it? Three days after
she's nominated, she goes on a Sunday
show and tells lie after lie after lie. So
many that she got 4 Pinocchios from
WaPo. One CNN talking head said "Does
Hillary think we throw old videos away
and can't check them?" She walks right
into a ready made ad for Trump. I
think she's a pathological liar and really
can't help herself. I know a guy like that,
nobody believes a word he says about
anything.
