Oh, she unfairly and unethically manipulated the GOP primaries to get Trump to be the nominee? Because that's the only way I can see that accusation being true. Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

I actually had to cross check you, as that statement seemed ludicrous. But there it is in black and white.
Nareed can post stories about Presidential elections in Mexico where the loser claims they were cheated out of their victory. They try and bring Mexico City to a standstill. |

Well, the 88 election pretty much was awarded tot he winner, and no one really knows how many people voted for who. But it was done so blatantly and clumsily, the only mystery is why weren't the electoral officials laughing when they announced the results. Starting in 93, though, I dare say most elections are clean. Oh, there's vote-buying, informally, and busing supporters to the polls, and there are never enough ballots for those voting out of their district (there are no absentee ballots at all), and certainly some local elections, particularly in "indigenous" communities, are rigged. So when His Serene Royal Majesty One True God The Glorious whatshisname claimed he was cheated out of an election, it was also a laughing matter. until he got his thugs and supporters to block Reforma avenue for months. Trump's equivalent would be to get his people to block Fifth Avenue in NYC. But then the Mayor of NYC isn0t trump's lackey, and he won't just meekly go along if they try something like that. I'm not saying he will attempt it, of course, but people are talking about it. Maybe some of the Second Amendment people can take care of him if that happens. I don't know. More than likely he is laying groundwork for his career if he is not elected. |

Someone desperately needs a billionaire cry-baby with a potty mouth?? Oh, I just heard this one: You're having a picnic by the lake. Your basket contains a roast beef sandwich and a ham sandwich, plus a salad and desert. You see that a boat carrying Clinton and Trump capsizes. It appears they can't swim and will very likely drown. You could probably save only one of them. Question: which sandwich do you eat first? Donald Trump is a one-term LOSER |

I read that Romney went into 2012 believing he was going to win, and that's how he interpreted the polls. It seems certain that Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro knew they were going to lose in 1984. But did Michael Dukakis still believe he had a shot? The popular vote difference was not nearly as intense as the difference in electoral college votes. Popular vote ![]() ![]() ![]() How extreme do you think someone could react if they knew they were going to lose? Could they dump their VP at the last minute? If the polls in October are ridiculously in favor of a Democratic win, would Trump resign and give a party regular a shot? |

Dumping the VP does nothing but ruin that guy. I think most guys just tough it out. USA is unusual in that the election is longer than probably any country on earth. And next to impossible to knock the incumbent out. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |

Carter and Bush 1 lost The stakes are to high to drop out. Some major incident or major revelation could change things. It didn't help Mondale that he had to pick another vp candidate Could you imagine a revelation of major depression close to an election as Eagleton had. Dewey knew he had no chance in 44. Interestingly he heard that Roosevelt could have prevented Pearl harbor due to intelligence and considered using it in his campaign. Generals met with Dewey to convince him not to use that and tip off the Japanese that their codes were broken. Dewey did the patriotic thing and listened to the generals. Back to the present. Any other Republican candidate would see it through Trump, who knows Sometimes we live no particular way but our own - Grateful Dead "Eyes of the World" |
