What the Trumpkins (BTW, how about calling them Golden Boys?) don't seem to get is that the election is over. Done. Finished. The orange man has no one left to attack consistently, and neither do they. They seem to think further attacks on Clinton are a defense against Trump's lack of any trace of character. What? Will Clinton loose the 2016 election again in 2017? Not likely.

Poor Golden Boys. All lathered up and with nowhere to go.

Yep. Whenever Donald does something dumb that they have no logical defense for (and that happens A LOT), they just bring up Hillary.

Although, every now and then they do attempt to defend the indefensible (see Duffy's pretending that Donald never mocked that reporter above).

I really don't get die-hard partisans on either side. I can respect a stand on principle even if I disagree, but there's no need to defend the indefensible or parrot the lame arguments of spin doctors.

Well Hillary is in the thread title. This thread should probably fade away. Trump supporters have benifited from comparisons to HRC. That's a pretty low bar and no longer relevant.

I'm not a partisan on either side, unless there is a side called "Against the orange man." For the record, I think Hillary Clinton would have been a terrible president, just a few orders of magnitude less terrible than Golden Boy Trump.

How do you best sum up the 2016 election:

A) No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people?

or

B) There's a sucker born every minute?

How about " NEVER SMARTEN UP A CHUMP ' ? That was Hillary's mistake

And Stalin kept bringing up Trotsky.

Really, has no one ever read 1984? Granted golden Boy Trump isn't a totalitarian dictator, but many of the techniques illustrated by Orwell in his novel, and many of these were actually used in practice, work just as well for authoritarian regimes. And Golden Boy Trump definitely wants to be an authoritarian ruler.

There's a striking scene in 1984 where Winston reads about a cut in a food ration. Later in the day the telescreen jubilantly announces the ration of this food has been increased to the level mentioned before.

Golden Boy Trump spent years chasing Birther paranoid fantasies, threatening to send investigators to Hawaii and such, and then convinced his followers he never believed them, but that Hillary Clinton did.

Authoritarianism fits his vindictive personality.

Oh, well, First they came for the Democrats and I didn't speak because I'm not a Democrat....

So you agree it was just gestures Trump used towards others and had nothing to do with the guy being disabled. Good.

I saw a video where Trump used the
exact same gestures in half a dozen
different circumstances, none of
them were mocking anybody. The
Left will never let it go, it makes
them feel good that Trump mocked
the guy, it fits their view. You have
to understand how Lefties minds
work, none of it is ever based on
reality.

Been awhile. It usually ends up on required reading lists for some courses.

Was reading something about Al Capone recently. He considered himself a business man, and the things he did necessary to protect himself and his family. That justified anything ultimately.

I don't think Trump has a lot of morals beyond that. He'll continue to do personal rescue missions, so he can make a big show about what a great person he is, meanwhile behind the scenes, who knows. We'll find out how hollow that is, later on, I suspect.

I don't say this often in connection with this book: you should read it again.

If you can't, and I couldn't, look up the parts where Winston reads Goldstein's book. The control techniques are explained there.

Then read Animal Farm. it's quite illuminating as well.
