In researching gods sacrifice on Google,
all I'm running into is long winded
convoluted nonsense. It's like nobody
knows exactly what god gave up in
his sacrifice so they make the issue as
complicated as possible.

Even if Jesus was totally in the dark about
what would happen, that has nothing to do
with the sacrifice of god. It all hinges around
the argument that if god knew the outcome,
and he knows everything, there is no real
sacrifice.

These people I'm reading trying to explain
this have got themselves into quite a pickle.
They're boxed in, every which way they turn.
It's almost like they want to scream at you
'Just trust that it's true and shut up about it!'
lol

I think this is where you got in trouble by having to admit that just because someone knows the outcome does not mean there is no sacrifice.

Because it's not a sacrifice, it's just a game
the god was playing in the myth. Gods play
these games in a lot of myths. God got
a woman pregnant, was born a man, did
his thing and went back to being a god
again. No sacrifice involved. You aren't
supposed to take it as something that
really happened, that's the road to insanity.
Myth's are meant to teach, not be taken
literally.

I'm dazzling myself reading these
years old posts. Where did that
guy go, he once really cared about
this nonsense.

All the things that you can be punished for eternity for doing in this life. Your thoughts even, your deeds are never good enough. Go through your life doing your very best and it's never going to be good enough. No, your going to hell son. Goin to hell.

That's their hook, how they make
you need them. It's insidious,
The longest running con in human
history is the Church. Luckily
they can't enforce it anymore,
not like they used to. More and
more people are wise to the con
and want nothing to do with it.

They are the only respite for those caught in the circle. No one else has the answers they seek.

As a con, I kind of admire it really. Look what they've built out of the original sting. Who could have known at the time.

I'm glad they don't have the power to grab people off the street and take them to the tower. But the folks that seek out that kind of being dominated and controlled are still there. I can see where they wish it were true bad enough, to make it true in their life. Some obviously stronger than others. It's a place to hide from having to have to take responsibility for all things in your life yourself.

Who would or could ever love God if they believed this? I don't know what Petro is referring to but it has no recognizable connection to me or my beliefs. I just got back from caring for a young person who try as she might cannot overcome addiction and has almost died a couple of times. She told me last night that her only hope is that knowing Jesus loves her even in her struggles and mistakes. The Devil wants to convince her she is going to hell, God wants to convince her she is loved more than she can imagine and has the hope and promise of Heaven.

And they brag about it! We've been
conning people with heaven and
hell for 1500 years, they'll say proudly.
They destroyed every other religion
they came across just so their con
could have the monopoly.

Better have the right attitude, and
think the right thoughts, or god will
will ignore you and the devil will have
you. Such childish baloney, it's
embarrassing.

You've re written my post very closely using different words.

If this young addict wasn't so convinced there was a god answer to her sickness, she would enroll in a medically based titration or substance maintenance plan.

Why blame the creation of narcotics on a devil? That would be, "some other god before him" no? The church and the drug dealer are doing the same thing to her.
