Can you explain why so many go to SLP without giving out too much personal information? I wasn't even aware of that airport.

Ok.

And thanks to Paco. I'd no idea there was even a BMW plant in this country...

Still, there are other places with big auto factories. VW is at Puebla, and I think some American manufacturers set up shop in Guanajuato/Silao.

As to the airport, I once landed there sometime in the 80s. It was a Mexicana flight MTY-MEX, and for some reason here was a stop at SLP. It was brief, and I don't recall whether people got on or off. What I do recall is catching a glimpse of the runway through the window before landing there. That's rare. It was a very early flights, with dawn breaking as we descended into SLP.

I've looked up flights from MEX for coworkers, but don't recall costs. Sorry. You can simply go to Interjet's page and look, I guess.

Magnicharters Seasonal: Cancún ULCC - old planes

Magnicharters uses old, old 737s only.

Aeromar only flies ATR turboprops. They had a couple of CRJs from Bombardier on lease a while back, but didn't keep them.

TAR uses only CRJs and they have very few yet. They seem to be betting on thin routes from airports with little service, like Queretaro.

Volaris Cancún, Tijuana NARROW BODY JET

And I wonder how long it will be before Volaris picks up a regional jet. They could break ground and go for the CS100.

BTW and speaking about the C-series, it made its commercial debut recently. Unfortunately a day or so later it made its debut on the Aviation Herald, due to a malfunctioning A/C unit. The flight wound up returning to Zurich.

That long? I'd really no idea SLP had anything going for it.

But back on topic, lest we appear to pry into your client's business (which would be gossip), about how many flights to/from the US are there? How much in demand?

Getting to SLP I generally connect my clients through DFW or IAH

If you look at the Wikipedia entry for San Lois Potosi, most of the sentence from my last post was copied. A little research and you can easily determine my client :-)

Probably. On the other hand, with a little research I could probably find out what you eat for breakfast, too, or where you gas up your car :)

Yea I saw that
Thank goodness I am off work now
WN is such a pain for me
If a client calls me to change an airline ticket, before travel or during travel, I change it and exchange the ticket in our GDS (Global distribution system)
Changes and exchanges is my bread and butter
WN, ugh, I have to call them for exchanges ugh

DFW and IAH are the only two USA destinations with nonstops to SLP.

Airlines Destinations
American Eagle Dallas/Fort Worth REGIONAL
United Express Houston-Intercontinental REGIONAL

Aeromar Mexico City
TAR Puerto Vallarta
Aeroméxico Connect Mexico City, Monterrey
Interjet Mexico City
Magnicharters Seasonal: Cancún
Volaris Cancún, Tijuana

Your clients are probably not interested long layover that cut ticket price in half . But it may be cheaper if you are starting from one of these US Interjet destinations to fly to Mexico City and take a Sukhoi Superjet from Mexico City to SLP.
Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Nueva York, Orlando, San Antonio

Sukhoi Superjet

In case you have a client who cares about $400 and wants a long layover to explore Mexico City. In addition you get more legroom and free drinks on Interjet.

American Airlines Base fare $741.00 + Taxes $141.45 = $882.45
09 August, 2016 15:47 hrs 17:54 hrs Miami -DFW
09 August, 2016 19:10 hrs 21:10 hrs DFW- San Luis Potosi
12 August, 2016 13:33 hrs 15:58 hrs San Luis Potosi - DFW
12 August, 2016 18:25 hrs 22:14 hrs DFW- Miami

Interjet Base fare $341.87 + Taxes $127.03 = $468.90
09 August, 2016 07:10 hrs 09:35 hrs Miami -Mexico City International Airport
09 August, 2016 19:00 hrs 20:05 hrs Mexico City International Airport San Luis Potosi
12 August, 2016 07:50 hrs 08:55 hrs San Luis Potosi Mexico City International Airport
12 August, 2016 15:00 hrs 19:10 hrs Mexico City International Airport Miami

In general those transfers via Texas are expensive. It is almost always much cheaper to transfer in Texas or fly from Tijuana if you are in Southern California.
