So what. In this country women couldn't
vote till the 1920's. Now they can. Should
we call it something else because it only

call it the same thing because a woman has

Gays have exactly the same rights to marriage
as straights do. Calling it something else would
be a ludicrous slap in their face. But that's what
you want isn't it, you and the Church. To keep
Gays in their 'place', to keep them from getting
uppity, thinking they're the same as everybody
else.

Obviously not both, since they're so fundamentally different. But this would mean we've been doing marriage all wrong since at least the first cities rose out of the mud of the river valleys in the Middle East. Worse yet, it would seem you've been arguing all wrong.

What??? Marriage means the loving, committed, forever complementary union of man and woman, who are fundamentally different hence the unique nature and fruits of marriage when they come together. It has pretty much meant that from the time of those first cities rising from the mud. I feel like this is ground we have already covered.

That's some pie in the sky version of marriage,
it's not real marriage at all. The 'fruits' of marriage
are something else entirely, as a 50% divorce rate
shows.
