As Netflix has moved beyond it's original concept as a more convenient option than going to a DVD rental store to a purveyor of mostly odd and puzzling TV series, it is open to people who simply want to rent it for 90 days out of the year to watch the shows that look interesting to them.

That's how I'll end up, probably.

I'm also looking into suspending my Audible subscription. I use it much more, but I'm also falling behind on podcasts, and there are books and lectures I want to relisten to. Like the ones on Byzantine history and the fall of Paganism I had a hard time with the first time around.

Hooked on Ice Pilots NWT on Netflix
Binged on season 1 over the weekend
The major arc was that Buffalo Airways based in Yellowknife Canada sold 2 CANADAIR CL-215 - FIREBOMBER  to the Turkish Govt
What a neat plane, propeller summer plane designed to scoop up lake water to drop on a fire
To complete the sale they had to fly both summer planes in the winter to Turkey
They had to install extra fuel tanks to make it over the Atlantic
Really like this show and their struggle to keep 50 to 65 year old piston driven DC3 and DC4 planes operating in freezing temps

I binge watched so many series over the past month, I'm having trouble keeping them apart.

Black Mirror
new season of Dark Matter (not done yet)
The Expanse
Humans (not done yet)
The Magicians (not done yet)
Firefly (for my son's education)
Cleverman

I had to slow down on some of those, because if I found one that I thought my wife would like, we started watching them together.

One of the lowest rated show on broadcast television is "My Crazy Ex Girlfriend" averaging about 400K viewers. Even for the fourth rated TV network, that is incredibly low viewership. It's musical, it's vulgar, it's clearly aimed at the young.

And in a rarity for the CW network, where all the actors and actresses are super thin and gorgeous, Rachel Bloom is better known for her comedy.

On January 10, 2016, Rachel Bloom won the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series Comedy Or Musical for her work on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. The following week, Bloom won the Critic's Choice Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series.

But if you are in the mood for a critical success, I highly recommend the show. It takes huge chances.

My mistake, there is no "My" in the title. It's just "Crazy ex Girlfriend"

Try watching the anti-romantic song and dance number first.

I'll look at it, but I don't see how
the writing can stay fresh for 42min
every episode. I haven't gotten over
Glee yet.

Rules of Engagement, a 5 season TV show
that was cancelled a couple years ago.
David Spade and Patrick Warburten play
the exact same characters they played on
Just Shoot Me and Seinfeld. Spade is a
horndog bachelor, and Warburten is a
dense self centered foil for the woman
in his life. Both are very good and talented
people, but the writing sucks so bad on
this show it's unwatchable. The pilot was
funny, it was downhill from there.
