Walter was designed to be less and less likable as the show went on. Though the idea of "likable" does not always work out like they want.

JR Ewing was supposed to be villain, but he was so bad people started liking him. He went from mean villain to lovable villain.

Alex Keaton was supposed to be hated. The show's writers admitted they wanted you to hate the conservative. He went from mean very early on to lovable fan favorite. His support of Reagan was just too mainstream to be the bad guy.

Roddy Piper was so bad and got away with so much people started liking him.

Vic Mackay was supposed to be the bad guy, but his nemesis captain had his own flaws. I and many others liked him from the start and rooted for him to end up on top.

Saul will probably end up liked for beating a system trying to keep him down.

They should have built the prequel around Mike or Gus. It be what it be.

I pretty much agree with the comments already made. Season 4 was the weakest. In no small part to no losing Chuck. The story line between Chuck and Jimmy was outstanding. Also agreed that Mike's story was much more compelling.

Loved the scene where they were singing Karaoke. For anyone who doesn't know, Chuck is played by Michael McKean who is a darn good musician and lead singer of Spinal Tap.

Nevertheless, I think I enjoyed it more than most of you.

I would like to say that I think Jimmy's statement to the Bar at the end of the last episode was not fake, but he meant every word. However, after the fact, when he saw how well it went, he lied about it being fake to Kim. I'd like to think there is some good and introspection in Jimmy. You saw it when he was crying by himself. That is a major plot point about the conflict within him, between a decent guy and a scumbag. We also see a similar conflict in Mike. Definitely a good show in terms of character development.

There is good in him. Remember in BB he took his duties as a lawyer and attorney/client privilege very serious. He worked for the little guy. He threw Walt out of the office when he tried to bribe him.

Agreed. I also think he has a true soft spot in his heart for the elderly.
