He said once you can ride an ordinary unicycle the only hard part about riding a giraffe was the fear factor of being up so high.

I have to think that there is aextrema where if the giraffe gets taller it becomes more difficult to ride.

I agree. Certainly if the unicycle were 100 feet high it would be hard to control. Just going off hunch, I think the optimal height is a saddle about 6-8 feet off the ground.

What if the weight of the apparatus was like 500 kg, but all concentrated below the axle? It would be hard to fall off since the pivot point would be so low. You'd be a "Weeble".

It is a joke carried over from the Wizard of Vegas board. It caught on with the Wizard and others, so you will see it as an option on many polls.
Cool thank you for explaining.

No, because you are free to move in two directions straight to the ground. I think you would either do a face plant or back smash in minutes.

Wouldn't it operate like ballast on a ship?

Did a short 11.6-mile ride today, available for viewing on Strava. Lots of street crossing and a stop and chat with one of the guards caused my average time to be less than impressive.

Totally unrelated, but said guard is looking for any car that runs, preferably for $1,000 or less. If anyone has one, please PM me.

18 pages about unicycles. Have I
entered an alternate uni-verse?
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

The presentation on Strava seems clearer than the last one. It includes peak speed of 12.1 miles/hour (not clear over what time interval). Also there is an analysis graph which makes it clearer how many times and how long you stopped.

Now if you can just add heartrate you will have a better idea of how you are going to hold up when you are racing over 6 hours.
