Did you take 8 minutes and 43 seconds to run .81 miles, or was your pace 8 minutes and 43 seconds per mile?

I only know what is on that page but that does sound reasonable. I usually walk the unicycle at street crossings and I go pretty slow over the two pedestrian overpasses, although I'm proud to say I can ride over them, but need to dismount sometimes at the turns.

I wonder who else gets your data? Free things rarely are.

Here's some info from a review of the app by PC Magazine. It appears that you can hide some key data from public view, but need to work at it:

... Read between the lines here: Strava is also uploading your segment times, maps, and other information for everyone else to see. There are a handful of features that let you hide some data, but they're hard to find. Only a few are in the app itself and the rest are on Strava's website.

Strava should offer more warnings upon initial signup that other users will be able to see your routes, times, and so forth. If you don't realize this fact and label one of your runs or rides "Morning Commute," you could be giving a lot of people information about where you live and work. Turning off visibility and hiding your place of home and work is possible, but only through the website, and it's not easy to find...

In the case of the Wizard, BlockShopper News Service, revealed his address the price he paid for his home, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and his wife's name along with a biography and list of accomplishments (sparing only the names of his children). So in general I would say he doesn't need to act like a 21 year hot blonde that someone can track via Strata.

But in general, it probably is not a good idea to post that you are out of your home between 9:10 and 9:55 every day of the week, and you will be running by some dark park alone.

Yep. The route I did today started from my house. I might have not done that if my address were not already in the public domain.

Did you chip your tooth on the uni?
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

No. Did I mention that somewhere? I initially chipped it in a bike race when I was about 10 or 11. The latest crown, which was done in 2003, finally gave out on Sunday night.

It looks like it records your stats for each mile. It says my moving time was 2:07 and elapsed time was 2:11. However, I'm sure I was not moving more more than four minutes. How did you calculate the eight?

It will ignore non-moving time if you put it in as a race. Lots of good detail in there, though sometimes the elevation maps they use are -questionable-.

Very cool app I must say, and free. Stephen How, who runs discountgambling.net turned me onto it when I saw him at the Raving show.

The premium version isn't worth it for runners, but many cyclist I know swear by it.

What additional features does the premium version have?

Goals, better comparison with other people on segments, couple of extra tracking options when you review your past results (useful breakdowns for cyclists more than runners). Nothing worth $45/year to me.
