There's not as much of that now. Sly Stallone, Bruce
Willis, a few others.

Bruce Willis is IMHO one of the best actors out there today, along with DiNero. My reason is they still have a good image despite taking on so many characters. Good guy/Bad Guy, comedy/drama. And it is not as if you look at them in one movie and think they are their old part.

Contrast that to say Tom Cruise. I like most of his movies, but he is not going to convince me as being a bus driver trying to keep his kid away from the local gangster.

After performances in Hang 'Em High and Coogan's bluff he was a natural for the role.

There are plenty of stars that play pretty non-metrosexual characters.
I laughed when I saw Vin Diesel's pic. He has been dogged by gay rumors for years now. lol

I did specify the character, not the actor. Three of the actors on Frasier were openly gay, and all of them played straight characters (even if Niles was effeminate).

The father's gay?!?!?! Wow, the other 2 were obvious, but I would have never guessed that the father was gay too.

That's why the episode where pretends he's Gay
and Niles is his boyfriend was so funny. They
took a lot of ribbing from the crew during filming.

It was the same with Rock Hudson when he had
love scenes in his comedic movies. The crew
had him laughing so hard he couldn't do the
scene sometimes. It's amazing that secret was
kept for so long. Those were different times
for sure.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Ummm....no.

Pretty boys idolized pre-pill:

Rudolph Valentino
Tony Curtis
Elvis Presley
Tab Hunter
Freddie Bartholomew
Rock Hudson
Pat Boone
Frankie Avalon (borderline, assuming pill widely available from 1963)

Just off the top of my head; sure there are many more.

Um your argument is with science. Pretty boy I think is meant to have feminine features and women on the pill are more attracted to these types. I'm not quite sure those on your list would qualify as pretty boys either.
