No, not really.

For the sake of argument, let's suppose that 99.5% of concealed-carry permit holders NEVER forget where their loaded guns are, and 0.5% OCCASIONALLY forget where their loaded guns are. If the number of permits jumps from 3 million to 11 million, then you'd start with 15,000 folks who occasionally forget where their loaded guns are but eventually end up with 55,000 folks who occasionally forget where their loaded guns are.

Some of those people fly on airplanes.

Are you arguing that the TSA's effectiveness has tripled under the Obama administration? I doubt that.

Yesterday, the House voted 235-180 to roll back a rule that required the Social Security Administration to report people who receive disability benefits and have a mental health condition to the FBI’s background check system. The database is used to determine eligibility for buying a firearm.

Under the rule, which is set to take force in December, the Social Security Administration (SSA) rule would report disability recipients with severe mental disorders to the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System.

People entered into the system would be able to apply for relief from the SSA, but not until after their names were sent to the FBI. They would also be able to appeal in court.

The idea was to make it harder for schizophrenics to acquire guns.

The problem is that what starts as not wanting schizophrenics to get guns leads to any "mental problem" getting you onto a list that you can never get off of.

Schizophrenia isn't a "mental problem." It's a mental problem. Anyway, the rule referred to "severe mental disorders," of which schizophrenia is only one. It's not some kind of slippery slope where anyone with a mental illness would be denied the ability to shoot up a shopping mall. That's a sacred American right, after all.

And anyone who favors the mentally ill being given free access to firearms is probably mentally ill themselves.

We could probably find many psychiatrists that would testify that many of the members of this board are too aggressive and unstable.

Maybe repubs are trying to help the gun industry
Because
Gun sales way down
Tons of gun stores cancelled orders the day trump was elected
Gun stocks down
A nice silver lining

So anyone who believes in a god would be barred from owning a gun.

But none of the Trumpers here would consent to be tested, especially since mental health treatment is based on science and facts.

If your premise is actually true then the board would certainly become a little calmer as only our left wing nut cases would be tested and banned.

Absolutely. Let us silence those with whom we disagree. Are you on the faculty of Berkley ?
