China take over, maybe. They have their own problems that might tear them apart as a united nation-state. Progress continue? Not so much. Those non-westernized, Asian nations have issues. The people do not think for themselves. Pilots can make a fortune flying for China because the locals just know how to follow the book, not think for themselves. That carries all thru the culture. The West makes the world what it is, the other 80% can barely manage the day-to-day. Things will last through my time at least, but after that, the deluge. The President is a fink. |

I know this much. Whatever we think is going to happen, won't happen that way. Too many unknowns, too many variables. It's never as good or as bad as you think it will be, it's always in the middle. Go back 100 years, or 50 or 25 and read their predictions for the future. Why will ours be any more accurate than theirs, which were all ridiculously off. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |

Space stations were suppose to be big and look like this. You believe in an invisible god, and dismiss people who say they are trans? Really? |

I have to agree with AZD on this one. I remember Sears in the early 70's and it was a manly store with a huge section for tools. I don't deny their advertising may have tried to attract women, but men are not as vulnerable to advertising. We need a hammer, we go to the store and buy one, end of story. They were the opposite of stores today, which are 2/3 for women and 1/3 for men. At some point in the late 80's they lost their testosterone and became another Macy's. IMHO part of that was when they moved out of their freestanding stores to malls. A guy does not want to go thru the hassle of a mall to get some hardware or tools. With Macy, et al nearby and being the direct competition they moved in that direction. Look at competitor JCPenny and how they morphed in the 1980s, stores looked totally different by the late 1980s. if they are covering up something, I guess they learned the stupidity of making it happen in the middle of the Saudi embassy. https://nypost.com/2018/10/18/saudi-who-arrived-in-turkey-day-of-khashoggi-disappearance-dies-in-traffic-accident/ I get the impression Saudi leadership is throwing all the blame on lower level participants and maybe this guy was not going quietly. Evenbob Member since: Oct 24, 2012 Threads: 146 Posts: 25011 | Michael Moore's new movie has made $6mil in 4 weeks. Opened in 1700 theaters, last weekend was in 95. His first 9/11 movie grossed $222mil in 2004 and cost $6mil to make. 14 years later it had to cost $8-$10mil to make the new movie, it will never even get the cost back. Who in their right mind would ever finance another MM movie. Moore convinced himself, like all Libs have, that America hates The Donald and would flock to his film to laugh their asses off at him. Not quite... If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
