They obviously take every rumor, no matter how groundless, and run with it hoping facts will intervene and give it legitimacy. This almost never works, ask the muckrakers of 120 years ago. In fact, this type of 'journalism' gave birth to modern fact checking journalism. Which is now being abandoned by the MSM. It will go full circle, the public will once again learn to distrust them completely and they will have to change. If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose. |
