People totally forget that Donald Trump was a very
well-known and well-liked celebrity when he got his
TV show. His show was always in the top 10 and by and
large America loved Donald Trump.

His show was most definitely NOT always in the top 10. Another EB li“exaggeration.”

It was huge for season 1. Then the ratings dropped. And dropped. And dropped.

That doesn't mean her economic positions are at all defensible. At least, not using math...which economists tend to lean upon pretty heavily.

Hell, I think she is wrong just about every time she opens her mouth. The only math that matters to her is reelection math, because that is what will make her another millionaire in Congress.

How much money did he already have when he first began making himself?

I tuned into his show a few times "just because" and it sucked.

That bombastic BS artist!

Worthy of zero respect.

Leona Helmsley, Glenn Straub. Probably more if I put thought into it.

Never heard of them. Everybody who knew Donald Trump was before he had a show.
Like I said here a hundred times Leno and Letterman have both said, they said it before
Trump was elected, that Trump was by far their favorite guest. Because he was smart,
he was clever, and his humor was self-deprecating. He always made fun of himself and
the audience love him. Of course after he was elected they had nothing to say about anything.
People who say Trump was sensitive about his hair have never seen him on Leno or Letterman.
He constantly made fun of his own hair.

You’ve never heard of Leona Helmsley? One would think you’d have been more likely to have heard of her than I.

I don’t object to the notion that these people once liked Trump and changed their tune. For my part, I never really learned anything about him until he started running for POTUS. I’ve never watched much TV, at least, not since I was a kid, so I’ve probably seen less than one total episode of The Apprentice.

I didn’t even know anything about his A.C. dealings (outside of the basic fact that he had A.C. dealings) prior to his running for POTUS.

I’ve also previously stipulated that’s he’s sometimes funny. He’s not really funny in the way that I’d want a POTUS to be, though.

And, I don’t even know that I think he was a terrible POTUS. We’re still here, aren’t we? Tell Penny Henny the sky didn’t fall. His handling of Covid was horrendous for the first several months, but let’s not rehash that. He’s just not the guy that I want representing this country, or representing me in any capacity. Real estate, side ventures, TV…don’t care, don’t care and don’t care.

Actually, I’d really love it if everyone finally stopped talking about him. I’d also love not to hear what Biden is doing, unless I’m actively seeking out information or reading a thread on the forum with that exists for that purpose. That said, the Right doesn’t whine about Biden nearly as much as the left did about Trump.

That’s also kind of a reason for me to prefer Biden, though I didn’t vote for either of them.

But Trump was not a clown. He always had very serious things
to say about the state of the world and about politics. He was
interesting, that's why they loved him as a guest and why
the audience loved him. He was dependable, Leno and Letterman
knew they had to do very little work with Trump as a guest.
