As everyone in the shipping trades knew the entire Japanese merchant marine has been marching across the paciic to the safety of the home waters where no vessels can be interned. It was obvious the attack would be on December 8th and the American press suppressed the clear desire that FDR had to enter the war and rescue the UK.
