I agree that most of these are nothing
like their records. Most of them are
still entertaining, though. James has
a very good voice, he's been in Broadway
musicals. Jimmy Fallon has a good voice
and is kicking himself that he didn't
think of this idea first.

I was going to say this is also a good vehicle for some of these celebrities, but that's too much of a pun.

I could probably like James regular interviews more on his show but he is the most effusive talk show host on TV. Even more than Fallon. And I think Fallon has toned it a down a bit since he started.

Not sure effusive is the word I want, but can't think of a better one. Maybe fawning.

I guess I prefer a more laid back response like Carson. Or I'll take a cynic even.

Adele's '25' album was a massive hit... a hit far beyond anything else in the current climate. Kanye wishes he had the sales of Adele.

Fallon couldn't do this segment... he'd be pulled over for being drunk in charge, I reckon.

Adele needs to cover that Beyonce thing for real ("This is my last night with you" - not sure if that's the title). She just wound up and beat that out of the park. In a car. Goofing off.

I haven't bought any music CD's in probably 10 years. Except I had to order hers last year, all 3 of them when 25 came out. Just phenomenal.

She has a fabulous voice. She injured a vocal chord
in 2012 and had surgery. Because of that, her voice
is even better than before. She picked up more range
and more depth. Oddly, Sinatra injured a vocal chord
in the late 40's. When he recovered after meds and
not using his voice at all for months, he too had picked
up more range and depth. He did his best work in
50's on all those wonderful Capital records. Both Adele
and Sinatra said, to a word, that when they injured the
chord, 'it was like somebody threw a switch in my throat',
and the voice just quit. Sinatra did it while performing
and had to leave the stage.

Here's Adele with Jimmy Fallon. Listen to how good
she sounds outside of the studio. Sinatra was the
same way, always sounded great no matter where
he was.

Styx has a much more well-known song about "sailing", but this one is pretty good.

This is the first time I have found Hobo on youtube. Jim always sings his Kodiak, Lady Lee song for us. Brings a tear to every drunkin fisherman's eyes.
