I have often said you need to watch shows such as "Pawn Stars" same as you watch wrestling. Either accept that most of it is faked and be a smark or watch something else. Wrestling back then was staged more than scripted. The promoter told them what they wanted but the individual moves were mostly up to the wrestlers. Sometimes the guy who lost to the stars (Rene Goulet to name one) actually directed the match even if the star won just to train the star in how that promotion worked.

"Reality TV" seems to vary. "Operation Repo" is 100% staged, "Food Network Star" is more of a contest than a "reality show."

I do have to call EB out on this page, however. Funny in 20,000+ posts we have not heard this mentioned. Care to furnish a link?

I've mentioned it several times on WoV,
not lately though. It's real and sometimes
it's a real pain in the ass. It's like having
a constant homework assignment that's
always due. 14K followers is a lot of
people to keep ahead of. I never give
out the link, I keep everything separate
on my different forums. If you don't
believe me, it changes nothing either
way, does it. I started it in 2010 to blow
off steam and it just grew from there.
2014 was the biggest growth year, I
was getting 150 new likes a week for
about 9 months.

Really? You mean a repo man doesn't sneak around an airport with a camera crew in tow? That cameramen don't mind occasional stray automatic weapons fire coming in their direction? Its mostly reenactment simply because the repo would never take place if it were not. One guy walking around peering into hangars is bad enough but if he had a camera crew in tow it would come to the attention of everyone on the field.

Consider Alaska Bush Family: Its signed for a fifth season and they won't even be shooting in Alaska. Three of the actors were criminally charged for collecting the annual payment when they were living in Seattle.

Its staged, its hokum and its profitable.

Seen another guy doing stuff like this. FX guys can do this stuff at their home computer. Although pretty sure just having the tools is not nearly enough for just anyone to do it.

I watched some of these before, but I think this is my favorite so far.

This is the best one, with Adele. She has
so much talent and such an incredible
voice. I've seen this 20 times at least, it never
gets old. I just watched it again and am
always stunned by the quality of her voice.
And she seems to be having a really good
time.

Rare to see someone just show up and sound exactly as they do on their highly processed records. Totally agree with you on this one.
