The error in you logic is that the increasing sea ice IS NOT ICE FROM THE LAND it is simply that the ocean is freezing during winter. The ocean freezes and thaws continually at both poles.

source on bold part?

What you are failing to observe is that the land ice masses have been decreasing.

This is from earlier in this thread: http://climate.nasa.gov/vital-signs/land-ice/

Quote:
Data from NASA's Grace satellites show that the land ice sheets in both Antarctica and Greenland are losing mass. The continent of Antarctica has been losing about 134 billion metric tons of ice per year since 2002, while the Greenland ice sheet has been losing an estimated 287 billion metric tons per year.

Yeah, no:

"WRONG AGAIN: Greenland’s Ice Sheet Defies Critics With 4-Year High

Despite fears that global warming is harming the Arctic region faster than the rest of the world, Greenland is defying climate scientists and currently growing at its fastest rate in four years.
The Danish Meteorological Institute reports that Greenland’s ice sheet has seen more growth so far this year than in the last four years. Greenland’s growth in 2015 is also higher than the mean growth for 1990 to 2011."

In that article:

Quote:
But a paper from earlier this year found that only about half the warming impacting Greenland is due to global warming, the other half is due to natural oceanic cycles originating in the tropical Pacific.

"only about half of the warming impacting Greenland is due to global warming."

not "none of the warming impacting Greenland is due to global warming."

That very article says that there is global warming, and it is affecting Greenland.

that article cites another article:

http://beta.dmi.dk/en/groenland/maalinger/greenland-ice-sheet-surface-mass-budget/

which states:

Quote:
The calving loss is greater than the gain from surface mass balance, and Greenland is losing mass at about 200 Gt/yr.

that article cites another article:

What does that have to do with this?

The article you provided used the article I provided as the source for its facts.

Your article did not provide you with all of the facts. It cherry-picked the parts it wanted to see and conviniently neglected to tell you the rest.

Thanks, Bob. Be sure to let me know when you have some facts to back that up.

For everyone else, here are some wild claims that more glaciers are shrinking than growing. There is even a nice video from 2015, since the graph seems to end in 2010.

Gov. Brown's link between climate change and wildfires is unsupported, fire experts say

Finally, experts shoot down one of these kook claims on global warming. Normally the media would lap it up as if there were no wildfires before the 1980s.

Anyone get the impression that this thread is similar to two soldiers arguing about an incoming missle: is it a dummy, a real warhead, debris, a decoy, a massive blase, a minor blast....meanwhile ain't neither of them shooting at the darn thing or running or ducking or anything but quibbling over commas and semicolons.

Nah it is more like two soldiers arguing over a cloud shaped like a missle. One thinks its a real missle.
