I went to the movies today. While standing in line to buy a ticket I noticed a sign on the ticket booth window that indicated I was eligible for a senior discount. For some reason I was surprised. I don't know why. I'd been eligible for quite some time, but until that moment I'd never once considered availing myself of this somewhat dubious perk. Anyway, I jokingly pointed out to the young girl in the ticket booth that I was indeed old enough to be treated as a senior. She nodded and proceeded to give me the discount. I asked if she wanted to see proof of age. She glanced at me, shrugged and said, "Nope." The movie was a comedy, but I was in no mood to laugh. I just sat there and sulked until I fell asleep.

Chuck Lorre is age 61, and worth well in excess of half a billion dollars. His 2nd wife was a playboy playmate that he divorced about 4 years ago.

If you were Chuck Lorre, and you went into a sulk because some teenage girl easily believed you were a "senior" (which you are) , how would you take care of your bruised feelings? Buy a lamborghini?

PS: I didn't know guys like that went to movie theaters.I just assumed that new movies were hand delivered to their million dollar home theaters.

What a jerk. Teenage girls think any guy over 45
is a senior citizen. It's always (always) better for
a man to look older than he is, looking younger
is never an asset. If you're 30, it's better if you
look 40. 50 and you should look 60. Age always
brings respect, youth gets you women. And trouble.

Who needs that.
If you take a risk, you may lose. If you never take a risk, you will always lose.

Why does a guy with that kind of money live in a 2 bdr/2bath home?

He may have several. Or live in posh apartments as well. Having a small place right near where you work all the time might be preferable than using the heliport from a mansion. Or he may have bought the house for someone else.

Actually, there was a A-list star (young guy but don't remember his name) I just saw an interview with who lives with his Dad when he is working in L.A.

I suppose there are several possibilities. The ex wives may have the big houses. Some people simply don't care about mansions. A good workaholic may just want a small, but expensive place near his job. There are some people with money who basically live in hotels.

Meredith Viera supposedly lives in a 3 bedroom that she payed slightly over a million dollars. With a networth of around $40 million, she could easily afford a much fancier place.

But it is still pretty unusual to have a home that is valued at less than 1% of your total net worth.

He paid 2.6 Million for a two bedroom house? Jeez... that is some expensive real estate.... even if it is 3,000 sq ft. That's a fair chunk of house. Must be some large living rooms and kitchens and the like...

Liberace tells a story of Aristotle Onassis owning a house near every restaurant he liked. Many, many of them. All so he would have a private place nearby to wash-up and not use a public bathroom.

Since the house was built in 1933, it is very unlikely that it was designed with 2 bedrooms. It is much more likely it had 6 bedrooms. But a normal person might not want to destroy the bedrooms because you would think about resale value and wiping out any possibility of selling to a family. If you are worth over half a billion dollars then you don't care about resale value. You just knock down walls, or even turn entire bedrooms into offices, giant jacuzzi and workout room, or even a big closet.

Kaley Cuoco (who works for Chuck Lorre), but is one of the highest paid actresses on TV is selling her house this week.
14717 Sutton St, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403
For Sale: $2,795,000 Last Sold:Nov 2010 for $2,400,000
Bedrooms:5 beds Bathrooms:5 baths Single Family:5,233 sq ft Lot:10,759 sqft Year Built:2004
That is more normal for that much money you would expect 5 bedrooms and 5 baths.

I don't see anyone in the next 20 and surely 10 making it from in front of the camera. Simple reason is to make it from that side you need to produce 10 times that for the camera owner. Oprah made her money promoting her brand and getting an equity stake in her show. With the ever increasing fragmentation of media that will be harder and harder to pull off.
