Doesn't seem even the Vatican can escape politics and attempted coups? https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2019/10/08/plot-overthrow-pope/

They'd just replace him with someone
even worse.

"The book, 'In the Closet of the Vatican', written by a gay French journalist, claims homophobic priests are most likely to be gay. The 570-page book also says that 80 per cent Vatican priests are gay and living in the closet. The author Frédéric Martel has spent four years researching and according to the publisher, the book is a startling account of corruption and hypocrisy." https://www.theweek.in/news/world/2019/02/13/four-in-five-vatican-priests-are-gay-claims-book.html

80% is low, I think. It's closer
to 9 out of 10.

I don't understand the point of believing
in a god. If you don't feel compelled to
believe because you were brainwashed
as a child, it seems like a colossal waste
of time.

"There is only a point to believing in God if one has good evidence of the existence of God. But God seems fairly keen in ensuring such evidence does not exist. The most plausible point is apparently that its supposed to be a test of faith. But the entire philosophy is absurdly flawed. Its as though God has said, OK, I'll give you something ridiculous to believe in, and if you do (believe it), I'll consider you qualified to be regarded as a genuine follower. When I really should regard you as a gullible idiot." Paul Johansen

I think this is reason you don't believe in God. You keep talking about evidence and bringing up quotes that I agree with about the danger of blind faith. The reality is you close your mind to any evidence and believe there is no God because you have a blind faith in atheism. This is because it is what you want to believe. Stop trying to argue when you clearly are not interested in belief in God or even considering what the point is.

What evidence, I have yet to
see any. What you consider
evidence is not evidence at
all. You think you see a creation
so you invent a creator. There
are a billion believers, how could
they all be wrong. This is not
real evidence for anything except
the gullibility of the human mind.

Read an interesting article by a psychologist.
He says all over the world god believers
think atheists are lying when they say
they see no evidence for a god. Believers
think we see god very clearly and are in
denial because we want to 'get away'
with acting any way we want.

This is silliness personified. We see no
evidence because there in none. And
prisons are full of god people who did
whatever they wanted and got caught.
Shouldn't they they be full of those
wascally atheists, those godless people
trying to 'get away' with everything?
Atheists make up a tiny portion of
prison inmates.

Um...living the idea that you can do whatever you want and not get caught seems to be a pretty atheistic idea. Once they get caught and realize there is objective truth and they can't do whatever they want I reckon they would give up pretty quickly on the 'silliness' of atheism.

Get caught by who, what are
you talking about. If I obey
the rules and laws society has
put in place, what am I getting
'caught' for. Obviously atheists
are better at this than god people,
the prison system attests to
that.

My point was, as you yourself have
said scores of times, you believe
atheists know very well god exists,
we just choose to ignore the 'evidence'.
Nothing could be further from the
truth.

When I read the article I was amazed
most god people share that view, I
thought it was just you. You think
you see a god and a creation, and
are convinced atheists see it too.

We don't. At all.

I guess by nobody if you are an atheist.

After laughing I realized you might be serious. This is the kind of statement makes it really hard to engage in conversation with you and shows that your aren't really thinking and more just expressing your emotions.

That was not my point at all, I'm sorry if I was unclear. My point is that you do not want to believe and therefore you keep repeating over and over again there is no evidence when there is the same evidence you have for trusting your brakes, your food is safe to eat, and the person you met today was who they said they are.

I'm very serious. If atheists are so immoral
and feel like they can do whatever they
want, as Xtions claim, why aren't prisons
bursting at the seams with convicted
atheists.

'Want' has nothing to do with it.
Do you think a scientist does
research because he wants a
certain result? He's sure to get
it if he has that attitude. He has
to be neutral to get the truth.
Show me a god and I'll believe.
Until then, I won't.
