So the speech was useless. And, zero firm plans put out. And, zero firm plans about Nato. Luckily, the U.S. can only pull out of Nato with congressional approval, and there are still enough semi-sane Republicans that I do not think that will happen. We are "winning bigly". We have a bit more to do, but not too much. We want Hormuz open, but don't need it, it would be better if Europe opens it for us or something. The speech was like a 5th grader improvising a verbal book report. I don't feel any more enlightened about the plan for Iran (and have zero confidence that Trump does.). He would have been better off staying silent. Total blathering. |

Hegseth is a religious extremist nut job and likely war criminal. The fired Generals had perhaps tried to speak truth to power and been fired for that. We'll hear their stories too late when their memoirs are published. |

The problem is every rescue air party sent just puts the rescue party at risk of also being shot down. I am not familiar with this situation yet (the second aircraft downed, first I am hearing of it.). But, I hope they can get the pilot(s) to safety, how they can do that, I have no idea, very hairy situation. |
