It shows they're still sick and tired of all the dark skinned immigrants from shitty countries moving in and claiming parity.

The main parties: Conservatives : About as right wing as your Dems
Labour: About central but left of the Conservatives

They take turns in government and neither can fix all the issues: They don't claim they can.

Then Farage and his 'reform' party claim that they can solve it all by simply keeping out immigrants. They appeal to the ignorant but disillusioned and are gaining influence.
