Too many drivers on their phones at stop lights. Which is why I have to beep at them when they don't notice it's green.

Perhaps, but wouldn't the same logic apply to bicyclists?

They have to ride with traffic, allowing a blindside collision from the rear.

That's the one I never got, or obeyed. I've been hit, my fault. But landed 38 ft. from the point of impact. I want to see what's coming toward me.

Definitely at risk for that. Not sure if the other way has ever been the rule anywhere. Must be a reason

I’m slowly going through my iPad collection of old news stories. A new slew shows up every day. Skimming through those of the last several years, it’s quite nice not to see covid in every edition every day any longer.

well, I was going to coin a word, if you can do that with slang. But RILF is already taken

Perhaps through inadequate sample size or even initially not being keyed in to look, at some point early this season I realized that it seemed to me there were less of these female referees working in the NFL. So I have been paying more attention now, and yesterday noticed one in the Dallas/Cincinnati game. I was wondering if it was the one I thought was kind of hot, and the unusable/already-taken slang RILF came to mind, but I never really got a good look at her. R for referee of course.

So, posting that for crass amusement, never mind, does anyone else wonder if there are less women now? Has to be a pretty tough job in some ways, a lot of travel for sure I would think

We called them all 'referees' but it seems only the head official is called that. Additionally one is an umpire, the rest are called judges of various types. Never looked that up before.

I haven’t followed the details but a bunch of schools in the area are closed/letting out early today so the kids can ‘prepare’ for the Bills game. My recently married son has a groomsman who is a Titans fan so they are going together. Worst seat in the house was a tad under $300! Daughter in Law is going with her dad in corporate box. I think resale for those tix would exceed $1k. (They will tailgate together!). I considered joining son but I just don’t like sitting in the rain!

I’m too emotionally invested in the Bills this year.

I prefer not going to games that I am emotionally invested in. I prefer watching it on TV. Going to games can be fun but it is much harder to watch the game with all of the distractions. I am going to the Alabama vs LSU game in six weeks but I am not a fan of either team, so the game itself is secondary, I am going for the event.
