In my hospital you don't follow the safety rules-including the inherently stupid ones-you get booted. It's a good thing you retired.

This is so patently false I’m wondering if you really work in a hospital. As I said, there are some that are followed to a T. Like no bazookas in the OR. But here’s one for you. Scrubbing your hands for surgery is supposed to be from 2-6 minutes. I can film 100 surgeons in any given day that are at that sink less than 2 full minutes. And over my 35 years ZERO have been booted. This is at maybe a dozen different hospitals and surgical centers.

I’m guessing you don’t believe any citizen has not come to a full stop at a stop sign, and then proceeded through that intersection?

I live in the real world. I’m not sure you do!

Those surgeons get a talkin' to at my hospital. If they keep it up they get to explain themselves to the Medical Board. I had a doctor get hot under the collar once when I refused to honor his orders when he used prohibited abbreviations and incorrect dosing regimens. He threatened my job right in front of my boss. I gave him my legal name and my pharmacy license number and dared him to file a complaint with the state board and to never bother me with this agai until he does. Never heard a peep from him again. And he revised his medication ordering practices to comply with hospital standards. Got 20 years in this job and counting.

I come to a full stop at intersections, and then proceed. Those that don't are at risk of getting pulled over and detained. Your mileage may vary. Rules are made to be followed, doc, and not broken.

If you live in the real world why do you keep saying "I don't know" about topics you keep posting about?

One sunny day in January, an old man approaches the White House from across Pennsylvania Avenue where he’d been sitting on a park bench. He speaks to the U.S. Marine standing guard and says, “I would like to go in and meet with President Kamala Harris.”

The Marine looks at the man and says, “Sir, Mrs. Harris was not elected President, Donald Trump was.” The old man says, “Okay,” and walks away.

The following day the same man approaches the White House and says to the same Marine, “I would like to go in and meet with President Kamala Harris.”

The Marine again tells the man, “Sir, as I said yesterday, Mrs. Harris was not elected President, Donald Trump was.” The man thanks him and again just walks away.

The third day the same man approaches the White House and speaks to the very same U.S. Marine, saying, “I would like to go in and meet with President Kamala Harris.”

The Marine, understandably agitated at this point, looks at the man and says, “Sir, this is the third day in a row you have been here asking to speak to Mrs. Harris. I’ve told you already that Mrs. Harris was not elected President. Don’t you understand?”

The old man looks at the Marine and says, “Oh, I understand. I just love hearing it.”

The Marine snaps to attention, salutes, and says, “See you tomorrow, Sir!”

Honestly SooPoo do you even do ANY research on yoru own? I mean, you keep saying "I don't much about [XXXXX] and then spout off confidently ignoant assumptions about [XXXXX]." In all your years you've never heard of an Inspector General? I say this because it's getting tiresome to keep calling out your ignorance. But yes, there are 72 statutory IGs.

In my hospital you don't follow the safety rules-including the inherently stupid ones-you get booted. It's a good thing you retired.

https://crsreports.congress.gov/product/pdf/r/r45450#:~:text=A%20total%20of%2074%20statutory,%2C%20and%20(4)%20special.

On page 4 "As of February 2023, 74 statutory IGs operate in the federal government, "

NOT 72. Talk about "ignorance" LOL

You can also count them here: https://www.ignet.gov/content/inspectors-general-directory

Geez are you dense. There are some subjects I know very little about. Some I know a decent amount about. Some I know a lot about. And some I’d call myself an expert on.

This is a FORUM. I’m here to interact with others. Here to learn from others. Occasionally to teach others.

You are here to pontificate. And be wrong a large percentage of the time. I’m glad you come to a full stop at every stop sign. In the real world there are MILLIONS who don’t, and just a minuscule number face any consequences.

I will admit that on the way to dinner I even changed lanes once without signaling.

You start half or your posts with "I don't know much about..." and you call me dense? You argue best when you argue my point.

The difference between you and me is you re confident in your ignorance, whereas I'm trying to learn from mine.

Those that don't come to a full stop at stop lights or signs take a big risk. Traffic cams are everywhere. Cops like to sneak around. Dash cams are becoming more and more common. And as you said you of all people have seen first hand the dangers of car crashes. And if those millions who don't come to a full stop were to jump off a bridge would you do it too, in the real world?

I hope Trump cracks the belt so it makes a loud noise before the punishment. :)

A few pennies here, a few pennies there, and pretty soon it all adds up to real money.

I would never trust a merchant or the government to round down if we get rid of the penny. In their minds rounding down means lost revenue. All those fractions of cents or rounding down to the nearest nickel or dime or whatever adds up.
That argument is so pathetic I barely know what to say. Do you bemoan the Mill was discontinued? Do you believe merchants are cheating us by rounding up all the time now that there is no Mill? Do you think the gas station cheats you with rounding practices when you have to pay to the cent even though those meters track up to the Mill?

I can only assume that you are against the penny elimination only because the new administration wants it [Musk at least].

googled:

Quote:
The claim that "Canadians cheated when the penny was eliminated" is generally considered not accurate; when Canada stopped producing pennies, the government implemented a rounding system to ensure fair pricing, meaning businesses were not allowed to simply round up every price to the nearest nickel, effectively preventing any widespread "cheating" by not giving customers the full value of their purchases
feel better now?

Good try Geno. Comparing ‘not coming to a full stop ‘ and ‘jumping off a bridge’ to try and make a point….. is why you usually fail miserably when trying to make a point.

And you fool no one here. You absolutely are not trying to learn anything from anyone. You obviously already think you have all the answers.
