If analyzing personal federal income taxes, here's the issue:

It's the top 1/10 of the 1%, not the top 1%.

Those folks doubled their net in 5 years.


If they stay here when they pass away, don't we get 50% of their net?

It's similar to the Brits being attacked by foreign culture.

When trump fired the head of the BLS, he created a hell of a problem for the US and for any Democrat that might come along after him. He's deliberately devalued and undermined bipartisan national bureaus and stats including inflation and jobs reports, but far more. How can any Dem ( or even GOP ) president ever re-establish truthful and non partisan stats when it's likely that trump will be massaging the figures to look good.
E.g. Let's say the next inflation report is magically 2% and reported created jobs leap by millions and reported joblessness plunges. All complete lies, of course. But then a Democrat administration comes to power, proposing to make things better, while simultaneously declaring trumps stats as a set of lies.

How badly that would go down. The kool aid drinkers will yell, "But it's 2% now and you want us to vote for 4%"
Idiots will vote for a reported 2% lie rather than a more honestly reported 6%.

And that belief will be wide and deep enough for the idiots to vote for the repug clan that at least tell them that all is well.

It's cynical, it's absurd and it's happening, but the devaluation of non-partisan truthfulness will likely be a political success.

Why do you think russians vote for Putin and accept their fate, their miserable economy and depressed living standards? Russia tells it's people that they have it just fine and they fall into line and vote for continuity. Russia, like the US has no viable opposition.

Nonsense. Trump fired a BLS head doing a bad job. Climate change is a scam as are most of the environmental groups you speak of. Filled with people writing regs who never worked a day in the industry they are regulating.
