Probably going to go as well as the last time a tech company reshored to the US.... https://www.npr.org/2025/04/12/nx-s1-5359422/what-wisconsins-foxconn-plant-can-tell-us-about-the-future-of-manufacturing-in-the-u-s |

Making glass in a modern factory is not that difficult or demanding, is it? Let's see how many entitled, obese, "spoiled" Americans go out in the fields to pick produce, or process / cook food in slaughterhouses and restaurants, or work construction...you know, hard, physical work. Americans have historically abdicated responsibility for these tasks to the illegals: I dare say Americans are going to be quite reluctant to pick up the slack. Let's just wait and see; heck, I could be wrong. I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken. |

Not even wasting my time on npr sourced material. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |

When this plant starts hiring they will probably have 50 applications for every open position. When Sony had a TV plant in PA it was hard to even apply. Smaller towns across the USA these places become employers of choice to the locals. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |

So what? You are talking about "easy" jobs with decent pay. That isn't what the illegals have been working at, for the most part. The acid test will be produce pickers / harvesters: if in fact the illegals stop doing it then we'll find out who's right, you or me? You believe Americans will line up to perform hard, difficult "stoop" labor such as picking fruits and vegetables, working in slaughterhouses and meat packing, and hanging sheet rock: as a betting man I bet you're wrong. Time will tell, eh? tick ... tick ... tick |

You sound like Democrats who said if we free the slaves nobody will pick the cotton. Tech is already taking over here. It will continue to do so. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |

per google / AI: "Harvest of California produce: a mix of machines and human hands California, a leading agricultural state, utilizes a combination of machine and hand-harvesting techniques depending on the crop and its intended use. Mechanization in action Processing crops: Many crops destined for processing, such as tomatoes, are largely harvested by machines. Certain specialty crops: Advancements in technology are leading to increased mechanization even for some delicate specialty crops. Nut crops: Machines are widely employed to harvest almonds, walnuts, and other nuts by shaking trees or vines to dislodge the produce. Field crops: Alfalfa and cotton are also harvested mechanically. Crops still relying on human touch Delicate fresh produce: Many fruits and vegetables destined for fresh consumption, like berries and certain types of lettuce, still require manual harvesting to prevent damage. Tree fruits: While mechanical harvesters are being developed and tested, most tree fruits like apples, pears, peaches, and plums are primarily hand-harvested. Some wine grapes and olives: Growers can choose between hand or machine harvesting depending on the specific product and desired outcome. The future of harvesting Addressing labor shortages: The agricultural sector faces increasing labor shortages, accelerating the need for mechanization and robotic solutions. Technological advancements: Researchers are actively developing new and improved harvesting technologies, including robotic harvesters. Challenges and opportunities: While mechanization presents numerous opportunities to increase efficiency and productivity, challenges remain in developing cost-effective, adaptable machines and ensuring a skilled workforce to operate and maintain them." Bottom line: "We ain't there yet..." |

So AI is saying what I said. If this is a labor issue we can put in a guest worker program. They come work pay full taxes then go home at end of harvest. They do not get counted in the census, etc. which is why leftists like yourself could not handle such a program. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |

I'm tired of you ascribing opinions to me which I do not in fact hold. I am NOT a "leftist:" I am however anti-Trump / anti-MAGA. I'm fine with such a "guest worker" program, if in fact hispanics agree to play by the rules...but they want to LIVE here, not just work here, so who knows whether it will work as planned? Also it will take time to set it all up, and in the meanwhile who will pick the fruit etc. if the illegals are afraid to work for fear of being caught by ICE? |

If you are tired of it then quit posting leftist views. Until then you show yourself to be a leftist. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength |
