If it is for something blatantly wasteful then yes, it is waste. What part of this does not compute with you? Do you so worship the deep state that you think as long as it was authorized it is acceptable?

Are you saying that the spending Musk has shown did not really happen?

I’ve mentioned JCAHO many times. The hospital ‘watchdog’ agency. Anyone who actually worked in a hospital knows what an ABJECT JOKE they are. They make a bunch of rules because…. They are paid to make rules…. That if actually followed would be GIANT added costs with NO BENEFITS. The hospital administration would waste hundreds of thousands of dollars, maybe millions, on JCAHO preparation week. So for the day or two the JCAHO reviewers would be there it would appear that the hospital was JCAHO ‘compliant’. So the hospital could get the JCAHO compliant certificate. The day after Mr and Mrs JCAHO left things were back to the normal, efficient, safe practices that doctors, nurses, techs, administrators inherently want for the place they work.

It’s complicated. The Public wants some reasonable oversight of hospitals, the police, food processing plants, vaccine manufacturers, etc…. I just know HOW RIDICULOUS it was in the hospital industry. To the point some just are not going through the charade anymore to get ‘the certificate’. I know some teachers. They tell similar stories of their ‘oversight’. I’m sure if we had more active members here we’d have similar stories from a variety of fields.

I like this thread. I’ve actually agreed with some of DG’s posts! And it’s been hard to argue with most of what EB and AZ have said. I’m disappointed in the responses from ‘the other side’. To me, it is as obvious as the nose on your face that Musk is finding gobs and gobs of waste. And maybe a bunch of that waste is ‘corruption’ as well. I would rather Trump overreach than be like most every other POTUS of our time, talk big but in the end do little. A key is do not stop. Keep the public outraged and triangulate the Democrats into defending it all to the death. Make them look like that Iraqi information minister saying there was no invasion as tanks drove behind him. Their power and popularity will tank.

Some Biden appointed federal judge has said that the Secretary of the Treasury appointed by Trump cannot access his own treasury files. I kid you not, that's how desperate they're getting. That's his job to access the treasury files. We'll see how far that goes in the courts, lol. Most of the lawyers I'm seeing are advising Trump to just ignore all these federal judges which will send it directly to the Supreme Court which is what Trump wants. The lefties want itto be played out in the lower courts forever which of course is not going to be. They already tried this lawfare crap and look where it got them.

In MANY cases, yes, it is waste. Now you and I can argue about specific expenditures. An easy one is putting illegal aliens in the Row Hotel in NYC on taxpayer funds. (I mention this one specifically because I’ve stayed there at around $300 a night for dozens of conference visits). I’m not saying it was illegal. Nor was the money not used for the Liberal Democrat decided intended purpose. But I can’t think of anyway that doesn’t meet the definition of ‘waste’ in my eyes. And by the results of the last election, the general public as well.

Any city can do stupid things. Fire or vote out the person responsible. If you can’t fire them or can’t vote them out, welcome to democracy. That’s the way it works.

You made my point. Changes made by people with even less knowledge would be even worse for your hospital.
