Makes me wonder, in all seriousness, where do the turtles restaurants and home chefs use to make turtle soup come from. I mean, are there turtle farms, where turtles are bred, hatched, raised and sold as livestock for slaughter? Same as the frogs for frog legs?

China Food stores in Manhattan's China Town section have boxes full of them on the sidewalks and sell them openly. Illegal, but not enforced. The large ones they're poaching sell for $15/lb.
