Copy and paste in Google to read it. 'Younger Chinese fume at call to raise retirement age' "Chinese retirement ages are low by advanced economy standards: 50 years for female blue-collar workers, 55 for female white-collar employees, and 60 for all males." Beijing subway. Or possibly #7 train in Flushing, Queens. Hard to tell.
Quote: According to MacroTrends, China's life expectancy in 2024 is 77.64 years, which is a 0.22% increase from 2023. This is higher than the global average and has been steadily increasing over the past few decades, largely due to China's economic growth and improvements in public health services. In 2008, China reached its Millennium Development Goal of reducing child mortality by two-thirds, seven years ahead of schedule.
It's good that Chinese workers get to retire so young and enjoy so many years in retirement with family and friends. hopefully in good health. But I'm not sure that is economically sustainable, especially for a nominally communist nation. |
