I'd not heard of this federal law; one question though: what about the millions of gun-owning cannabis smokers in the USA?

Weed is illegal under federal law, but not under the law of many states, and I suspect many habitual pot smokers could be considered addicts, at least for purposes of this law.

The news source I happened to see this morning is highly biased, but opines that any number of people would have been charged under that if such charges were frequently pursued. They opine that these charges were brought because it was someone of Hunter Biden's notoriety.
