Tourist submarine likely has 5 dead people sealed inside. To the Titanic. Lost contact a day ago. Theoretically has 4 days of oxygen but if communication system is down and vessel hasn’t returned to surface….. not good….. Apparently one of the 3 tourists is a billionaire who I’ve never heard of. Cost for full day trip was a mere $250k per person.

Seems like there would be an emergency mechanism to send them slowly back to the surface if they had time to react whether they returned conscious or not.

I’m not particularly claustrophobic but there is no way in hell I would ever have even the slightest desire to get into one of those things and go down to the bottom of the ocean.

I think even pinpoint leaks come in with the force of a bullet at that depth. Before you implode.

I doubt if it was the ocean leaking in, or implosion

probably something in what they were breathing made them unconscious. Not enough oxygen?

where is Pacomartin when you need him?

The talking heads are yakking about trying to get resources on site to rescue them: yeah, right.

Not enough time to meet the logistical requirements of transporting one of the few craft and crew in the world capable of doing anything meaningful.

Unless they're bobbing on the ocean surface I fear they're gone.

Texas continues to be a sh**hole state

https://www.kut.org/energy-environment/2023-06-20/ercot-asks-texans-to-conserve-energy-amid-record-demand-and-triple-digit-statewide-temps

Quote:
Texas' electric grid operator is asking folks to conserve energy from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas said it saw record demand for the month of June on Monday — a record that could be broken Tuesday as much of the state suffers through triple-digit heat.

California does that exact same shit…...must be a shithole state too. Look back at last Labor Day time period, Californians warned to conserve energy from 4-9 to avoid blackouts.

Texas does have generally the worst maintained pavement roads I’ve seen in America outside of Jackson, Mississippi.

I wouldn’t want to live in TX or CA (for very different reasons).

#metoo. Climate vulnerability is one thing they’ve got in common tho for people who expect to be around 30+ years from now.
