So if they wanted to shut off tourist flights it would be fairly easy to do so. Even easier when you declare an emergency like is going on. Actually, the FAA controls it and not the airports. At my age a Life In Prison sentence is not much of a deterrent.

I mean, the airlines aren't technically Government, so perhaps don't stop all passenger flights for something like this? Anytime you do that then the next time the reason for doing so can become less and less and less.

I can't imagine the hotels would be inclined to give refunds right now, either...and airlines never are.

Airports get closed for hurricanes every year. While I can see the "less and less" thing you also have to realize HI is a special case. I stand by my position that if it is that important just stop flights in.

That's why when Downtown Josh Brown and Cramer were shunning PYPL the other day, someone with deep pockets took their side. It's like a game they play, and then there's a teacher type that makes a living off of them.
