You know it’s a good ruling when it gets the righties all riled up like this.

[I’m sure some rich coal baron is paying for Clarence Thomas’s new yacht right now to try to get this overturned eventually]

If the carbon dioxide release into the environment was really bad for the environment, then humans are liable too, because we breath it out.

That's why it won't stick.

It'd be like prosecuting yourself for breathing.

Now, if someone didn't breath, then they might have a case.

But a person has to be alive to file a suit.

Since plants rely on carbon dioxide to survive, and they in turn provide us oxygen to breath, if the state was responsible for the release, then the state might be owed monetary compensation from the persons suing for allowing the judge, the prosecutor, and the youngsters to breath oxygen while they were alive.

Why is this a left-right thing??

Can’t we all agree 500,000 metric tons of plastic in the oceans each year is bad? Or is it “woke” to think that?

Why is it bad? Everybody on this planet is going to die. Why do I care if it is in 100 years or a million years. The outcome is the same.

Put your money where your mouth is and start ingesting some plastic each day.

I am guessing that I do consume some plastic on most days. Again, who cares? I know I am going to die, I just don't think it is that big of a deal.

I mean, if you really believed all this you would have killed yourself already. Death would be a sweet relief to anyone who really feels this way about the world, would it not?

Well, if you can do it without feeling sick it may be nothing much. In fact, I think too many people confuse the actual final death with the sickness or long-term pain. Seems many people who make it back from actual near-death events revise their opinion on fear of death. All the other stuff beforehand seems to be the unpleasant part so I think it probably should be considered as separate processes.

I'm not interested in ingesting plastic though. But it actually seems like an addressable problem.

Not at all, I don't want to die while I can still enjoy life.

My guess is that most people ingest some plastic on most days. I drink out of plastic bottles pretty much every day and I assume some of that plastic is getting into my beverages.
