I would have to guess because of the way that districts are made up.

I am honestly shocked that you're trying to spin winning the House into a positive. Democrats had a net gain BOTH in the Senate and in gubernatorial seats. A Democrat majority in both houses AND control of the Presidency is literally the only way the GOP could have had a worse outcome and you're trying to spin winning the House of Representatives as a positive sign? I think it's also relevant that ten more Democrats than Republicans left the House (of their own accord) going into the election.

I’m not spinning anything. I’m just pointing out the FACT that AFTER all the abortion information came to the forefront of American politics due to the Supreme Court decision, MORE Republicans got elected to the House than before the Supreme Court decision. That means a few dozen districts that voted Democrat in 2020 changed to Republican in 2022.
Remind me who is trying to ‘spin’ these results into a good thing for the Democrats.

I mean, the ONLY thing I hear the Democrats saying is ‘well people thought it would be worse!’ That the Democrats couldn’t wipe the floor against a party that has the narcissistic, lying, immoral, delusional albatross named Trump just shows how much mainstream America does NOT want the Democrat agenda. That is NOT to say they want the Republican agenda. Politics sucks.

I don't have a bitch in the dog show; I'm a Libertarian.

That said, of course the results were a positive for Democrats! Democrats kept the Senate and gained Gubernatorial seats in an election cycle that, prior to the overturn of Roe v. Wade, was being predicted to be a red wave for Republicans. Midterm elections generally aren't good for the incumbent party, but you don't need me to say that, because you already know.

The House of Representatives is almost meaningless other than keeping Democrats from having the House, Senate and Oval Office. The only thing it demonstrates is that some Republicans can win locally. Big deal. That's not going to help them in 2024.

That's why the Senate and Gubernatorial Elections are the more relevant elections. If the Republicans want to win POTUS in 2024, then they have to be able to win statewide races---which they can't do.

In Pennsylvania, Republicans decided to run a quack TV doctor carpetbagger who went on to lose to a friggin' vegetable.

In Arizona, the situation was a little different in the Governor race---where Fetterman couldn't talk in PA, Arizona Democratic candidate, Katie Hobbs, simply refused to talk, for the most part. She basically let Kari Lake do the talking, which was enough to give Hobbs the win.

You get that? Kari Lake, essentially, lost to nobody.

And, the most likely nominee for 2024 is Trump...who has been exposed as (well, none of the adjectives are good) and nobody except the MOST morally depraved of Evangelicals could possibly seriously want to be President, at this point. Sadly, Hillary Clinton was right, even though, "Basket of deplorables," is what ultimately buried her.

Trump is going to get his @$$ kicked from one side of the map to the other. I think the only real question that will be interesting to see answered is: Can Joe Biden win North Carolina or Texas in the second go-round? If there's one state that's actively ticking off women and young voters right now, that state would almost have to be Texas.

It's not that, "Politics sucks," it's that we don't do politics anymore. What we have is the Far Whatever on one side who engages in an endless campaign of trolling the Far Whoever of the other side. Serious politics and any attempt to reasonably discuss anything, as citizens, died the second that Trump won the Republican nomination in 2016. If there's one thing his Presidency should be remembered for---it should be the death of civility and any attempt at national unity.

In reality, if you took the people from both sides who, by all rights, could just as easily be Libertarians, we'd probably be the majority party.

Other than some of our more ridiculous people, Libertarianism is, somehow, almost centrist.

Is Desantis crazy or what
He is totally obsessed with punishing Disney because of their progressive views on gays
Its really insane
Its anti business and anti Florida and anti freedom
Its chilling
Any comment from Desantis Supporter Soopoo on this
Desantis is seething with gay hatred. Not Presidential material. Not even close
How can conservatives believe republicans are better for the economy with the Desantis antics attacking the largest private employer in the state simply because he hates gays

That can't be true because many churches have elementary schools on the same property.

Good to see DeSantis getting some conservative blowback in his insane obsession with punishing Disney.

Pudding Tits is punching Mickey Mouse in the nose.

The horror!

Disney could threaten to pull out of Florida if this nonsense doesn/t end, and then rebuild somewhere more amicable if Pudding Tits calls their bluff.

Expensive?

Yeah, but isn't it "the principal of the thing?"

Fun fact: Big Tits and his wife got married at Disney World in 2009.

There must have been no gay people at Disney in 2009. ;)
