This is such a fantasy How will they win on the economy. Desantis hates Disney. Trump blew up the deficit. This is a complete fantasy. All Dems are against crime. Many Republicans are demanding federal law enforcement institutions be defunded. Nothing really changes at the border from President to President. The republican party is bankrupt due to the religious right making demands that the American people are against. You keep saying the same thing! I DID read the room. Explain how the Republicans won over 1/2 the Congressional districts in 2022 with abortion rights at the top of all the liberal newsfeeds? Abortion….. hurts Republicans a little. Trump….. hurts Republicans A LOT! |

Gerrymandering? You seem to be forgetting everyone was predicting a 2006-style midterm wipeout and that just didn’t happen… jcw can’t even show his face around here anymore. Good result? I’m not saying if it is good or bad. I don’t care what people were predicting. Im just stating the facts. That despite the anvil/albatross/chain (Trump) more districts with American voters voted for Republicans than Democrats. And ALL of them had their abortion stances quite clear. |

Ohio? I would argue that Ohio is not even a swing state anymore. Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona. Who called Clinton the best candidate ever? As I recall, she was the second least net favorable Presidential candidate in history with the only one worse being Trump himself. Not that it matters, but she also beat him pretty safely in the popular vote; of course, given recent events, it wouldn't shock me if a Republican fails to ever win the popular vote for POTUS again. Certainly, no first-term Republican Presidential candidate has done so since 1988. "War is the remedy that our enemies have chosen..let us give them all they want." William T. Sherman |

I would have to guess because of the way that districts are made up. I am honestly shocked that you're trying to spin winning the House into a positive. Democrats had a net gain BOTH in the Senate and in gubernatorial seats. A Democrat majority in both houses AND control of the Presidency is literally the only way the GOP could have had a worse outcome and you're trying to spin winning the House of Representatives as a positive sign? I think it's also relevant that ten more Democrats than Republicans left the House (of their own accord) going into the election. Concede social issues. Argue being tough on violent crimes, for conservative economic policies and they can probably get away with keeping their stance on gun control. These Far Right positions on social issues are NOT winning on the GOP side. It's really that simple. The GOP is so mismanaged, or perhaps just insane, that they continue to play into the set of issues where Democrats actually have the advantage when it comes to having their finger on the country's pulse. That said, Conservatives who are willing to concede on social issues, at least in terms of national level politics, could make the LP viable (if they were to come over) and then you play up the economic policies and Second Amendment positions to keep the Bible-thumpers on board.
