they've already investigated Joe and declared "aw he's too old, the jury would just let him off" ... so why take it any further?

This is one reason we're in this position of defaulting as a result of abortion.

Our leaders followed a psychopath.

But in fairness, it's relatively easy to see their "selling" logic.

Their logic doesn't account for future natural disasters.

That's a major flaw.

Ignoring the major logic flaw, if a country wants to encourage death over life, then the plan must be accounted for financially.

Otherwise, the country will become insolvent and cease to exist.

So if abortion is not accounted for financially for the USA, we're likely being taken over by design.

Surely, Trump can see this.

There is a famous riddle. Water lilies are growing in a pond. Large lily pads are floating on the surface. They double in number every day. The first day there is one lily pad, the second day there are two, the third day there are four, the fourth day there are eight, and so forth.

If the entire surface of the pond were to be covered by lily pads on the thirtieth day, on what day would it be half-covered?

The answer, of course, is the day before—the twenty-ninth.

One day before the pond is completely covered, half of its surface will be free. Everything seems to be all right—there’s still plenty of room. But by the very next day, in just a brief interval of time, it’s all over—there’s no more room left.

I think the (electoral college) race is pretty close.

I wonder what possible events/bombshells/faux pas’/ could happen that could turn this nail biter into a one sided affair?

A full blown war in the Middle East? Who does it favor?

Big reveal on more inflation than has been reported? Bad for Harris of course.

Does untimely death of either candidate give it to the remaining candidate?

Is Walz the automatic candidate if Harris dies?
Is Vance the automatic candidate if Trump dies?

I don’t particularly like either, but I truly doubt Vance could win, and also think Walz would have a chance.

My understanding (and this could be wrong, typing from my head,) is that if a canidate dies after the public voting but before the December electoral college voting, the electors can vote for an appropriate replacement (which would presumably be the appointed vp canidate is most cases.) If a canidate dies after winning the electoral college (becoming "president elect") then the vp elect of course becomes president elect and appoints a new vp elect.

Once public voting completes, it really does not matter about the canidate or their likability, one party is going to have more electors and they vote on who they want from their ticket.

Personally I agree Vance would have no chance if he was the canidate, Walz, maybe, he is likable, but he made it clear he does not want it, and is only begrudgingly doing the vp campaign role to help the party, so I doubt he would accept regardless.

My hot take is that the electoral college map will look almost identical to 2020. Maybe swap AZ for NC in the blue column.

(No, this is not a prediction as anything could happen in the next five weeks. And no, I am not willing to bet on this).

Lets' take Donny/JD:

If Donny dies between now and election day, the Republican National Committee will meet and select a new candidate. It could be JD, or it could be anyone else eligible to be President. Anyone who early voted/mail-in voted or absentee voted is SOL. There are no do-overs.

If Donny/JD win, and Donny dies after election day and before the electors meets, then the electors vote for President. It could be JD, or it could be someone else eligible to be President. Or course, some states have laws restricting who the electors can vote for. Some states have laws mandating the electors vote for the candidate to who they are pledged.

If Donny/JD win and Donny dies after the electors meet and before Congress meets to count the electoral votes, then Congress has a choice to make? Do they count the votes for a dead person, or do they declare those votes ineligible? It's never happened before for a winning candidate, so who knows. Does JD become VP-elect and therefore President elect, or does JD become VP-elect and the contingent election in the House votes for President?

If Donny dies after Congress meets but before Inaguaration, then the VP-elect is sworn in, and immediately becomes President.

Donny most likely will flip AZ and GA, but Kamala will keep NV, PA, WI and MI. That's the way it looks right now., at least.

Any Donny supporters wish to comment on Donny calling Kamala "mentally disabled"?
