Sounds like Russia. Why are you so fascinated with the government doing everything? Abortion should not be subsidized by the government by even a penny.

Religion does not "have too much power" in the USA. It is that the USA has too many bigots who cannot handle religious people among them.

If you don't subsidize abortion the government pays far more. Abortion is actually a medical procedure that is cost positive for the government.

Not to mention criminalizing abortion has its own set of costs which we don't know for sure yet, but can look to certain countries to get am idea.

So even if we did what Canada does (and we should), it would be cheaper.

As for people who don't like religious people being called bigots, I really don't care. The last 100 years religious people have tried to stop segregation, tried to stop interracial marriage, tried to stop abortion, and tried to stop gay rights. So religious people have zero right to complain about how people perceive them. If religion disappeared overnight, quality of life and life expectancy would improve across the world, that is just a factual statement.

Care to elaborate on how you get to that position? I thought that generally each citizen creates more wealth for the country during his life than the costs he creates when young and old. If that is not the case it would appear that any country is doomed to die.

Because it is well known that women who need (and get) the most abortions would be reliant on government aid, charities, and social programs for their kids. Also abortions decrease crime for the same reasons.

That is probably borderline racist. I agree that a child raised in poverty has a harder climb to success than one who has financial resources available. But to outright say it is better to kill that child than let him have a the chance at success seems harsh. Why stop at birth, maybe 2 years old or even 10 years old is a better age to make that decision?

Our righties will never admit when they’re wrong, but any who said* the GOP won’t come for birth control once Roe is gone were very very wrong.

How is that borderline racist? I made no mention to race, I merely made mention of people in desperate economic states who cannot afford to have a child which can be a woman of any race.

Maybe he saw your bigoted post about religion and figured a bigot on one way a bigot in others?

I have never made a single bigoted post against religion. And, I would challenge you to cite one.

Bigoted means an unreasonable prejudicial view, all of my views on specific religions are correct and based on logic.

And, race and religion are completely different, one is a choice (you are choosing to live your life in a certain way) and one is a genetic characteristic that you have no control over....

I have no issue admitting that I do not tolerate intolerance, if a religion wants to marginalize a group of people based on scripture, they are wrong and should be addressed.

You should ask Duffman for his views on Islam. I’m sure his response wouldn’t be “bigoted” at all.

For example (I forget if I already posted this, but its still relevant, perhaps more so), my last office before it burned down (arson) was next to an abortion clinic (well on the same block, technically it was next to the parking lot, and we were kind of across the alley). There were constant protests, and not just in the front door, there were usually people in the alley (which was beyond annoying when trying to get in and out), and it was a small clinic (like I can't even recall how many non-staff cars were ever there, but it seemed to be pretty infrequent that they even had one patient -based on parking-). The fact that they were in the alley (which is where people who were trying to stay out of public view entered), and would berate them was pretty sick. Once they even said "We are only here to pray for the souls of your unborn baby" to me and my boss when we were just walking across the alley to our entrance from the parking lot (presumably they thought we were a couple or something and walking to the clinic).

I only point this out to say these are the same people that are complaining about protests at the Supreme Court offices.... They are willing to harass people at medical appointments who go out of there way to do it in a private fashion. For the record, I don't support protests at people's homes, but these constant protests at the entrance to medical clinics have probably been going on since the 80s if not earlier.... And, they also engage in terrorism. And, this was a very discrete location (no signage, non-descript brick building, in fact very similar to our building so I am sure some people thought we were part of them....) so people had to do some hardcore research to determine it was an abortion clinic (I did not even know for several weeks until somebody told me, I assumed the protests would just some routine downtown antics and/or directed at us).... So there are groups out there that just research abortion clinic locations and go and protest them, its more than bizarre, its twisted... Like if you are going to film and harrass random women going in and out of the clinic, you are just a bad person (you also need a life, I have no idea how these people have so much time on their hands, not just to protest all day, but to specifically research the locations and when people are coming, because there would always seem to be an uptick of protesters when patients actually came as if they had scouts and plan when to go where, they must have a lot of behind the scenes logistics time beyond the actual protesting....).
