Is Covid over?

Moderna has finished a phase 3 trial in 8000 adults with a combination flu and covid all-in-one shot. It's had a superior immune response to current vaccines.

Pfizer is also working a combo shot.

Neither may show up soon, though hard to say. Not sure how long a Phase IV trial will last (where they look for long term side effects). If there was a serious emergent flu or round of covid, they would likely speed it up unless something suitable exists already.

I kind of wonder why they are doing this. I get both the Flu and Covid shots and have never wondered why they don't put both in one shot. I get them at the same time and it probably adds one minute to the whole process to get two shots instead of one. I would also think they could charge more for two shots than they will get for a combined shot.

Er, you'd rather get two shots when you could just get one?

Well, maybe they can jab you twice with the same needle if it makes you feel better.

I would think it is far better not to mix the shots into one. More things to go wrong.

I just skip both flu and china virus shots to minimize that risk as much as possible.

That makes absolutely no difference to me. For me, the inconvenience of going to get the shot(s) is the only thing that perturbs me. Once I am there I don't care if they give me five shots as long as it doesn't take very long. I know I am different than most but getting shots doesn't bother me at all. I have survived 25 or 26 surgeries so a little poke in the arm is irrelevant.

I used to be generally against those combined shots as if you have a side effect/allergic reaction/other complication I’d rather know specifically which entity caused it. Both have been proven so safe that I will be getting the combo shot in the fall.

I’ve known a few people like AZ who skipped the shots during the pandemic, may they rest in peace.

Over millions of doses for people given out though, you'd use twice the number of syringes using double the supplies when you don't need to.

Okay, so I'm not naive enough to believe a two-dose shot is going to really have the potential savings passed back to the consumer, but it's still half the mountain of disposable plastic created.

They can say it is "safe." But it still seems a far better practice to to spread it out. Let your body accept the first one before taking a second one.

And I will keep going back to the vaxers complaint that if I do not get it they are somehow more at risk. If it works as advertised why should a vaxed person worry about an unvaxed one? 3 years no vax no problem here.

Seems like most normal people want to keep away from you anyway so they weren’t in danger of inhaling your droplets.
